Did anybody else notice all the good things that happened to Duke Sunday?

Of course, we all paid attention when Mike Krzyzewski's men's basketball team blasted San Diego State to earn a trip to the Sweet 16.

That's the biggie.

But that wasn't the whole story:

-- Our football team received a huge commitment from 4-star OLB Brandon Hill (ranked by Scout as the No. 10 OLB prospect in the country). That's a huge get at a position of need.

-- Our women's basketball team, crippled by injuries and defections, gutted out a come-from-behind victory over Mississippi State to reach the Sweet 16 in the women's tourney.

-- Our baseball team, trailing Pitt 6-3 after six, rallied for a 7-6 win to claim the series from the Panthers and improved to 18-6 (4-5 ACC). That ACC win was important -- we had gone 1-2 against UNC and 1-2 against Georgia Tech, projected to be two of the best teams in the league. Avoiding the sweep in both cases was big ... but to have a successful year, Duke has to win the series with teams such as Pitt.

-- The Duke women's tennis team came from behind to defeat No. 8 Virginia, while the men's tennis team knocked off No. 12 Wake Forest

-- The Duke men's golf team beat 14 other opponents to win the Spring Shootout at the Duke Golf Course.

All in all, one of the best all-around sports days in school history.

PS Okay, I know it wasn't perfect -- the men's lacrosse team lost at No. 1 Syracuse Sunday. But that was the only blemish on a great day and we'll get another shot at them in the tourney.
