Food in Keyboards

Keyboard check. Hey all you office deskoids, look closely in your keyboard. Do you have a lot of food crumbs in there. I do. Can't tell what all it is but a partial list seems to be:

-Toastchee Cracker crumbs
-Peanut shells?
-There's a seed of some sort
-Lots of other "debris"

Most of the food seems to be centered between the keys H, J, N and M and there appears to be a fairly significant ketchup (or hot sauce) stain on the south side of the ";" key.....as well as the "Num Lock" key. Gross.

Oh well.

Um... Caveat: if you have a ps/2 keyboard (the round connector - I don't know if it applies to usb keyboards), and plug it in before it's completely dry, you can fry your computer's motherboard.

As in a buying oppurtunity.

If this is a $20 Kbd, buy a new one!

Unplug. Pop the keys off (if you dont know where the function keys my memory just do the alphabet) vacuum. replace keys, whipe the whole thing down with windex or something similar (dries faster than water) let dry, plug in and go
If pulling the keys is too much trouble a hair dryer (high air flow low temp please) does a nice job of blowing the plaque out of it if you don't have a can of air.
