This was was put on the interwebs by a blogger. It seems on its face to be real--Pathé News footage of the 1919 World Series featuring the Chicago White Sox v. the Cincinnati Reds.
Fascinating in its own way--long before talkies and certainly long before standard film shots of baseball games.
I don't know where the blogger got this movie from, but I certainly enjoyed watching it. The film does appear to be more sharply focused than you would expect from that era, but I suspect it's been digitally enhanced.
Baseball historians--enjoy!
Great find.
It's definitely real -- I've seen portions of it before. It does seem oddly out of order -- highlights of Game 3 are shown before highlights of Game 1.
Don't go looking for evidence for or against a fix -- the little bit of game action (it's mostly atmosphere shots) are too brief and indistinct to see much.
Still great to see.
