Stupid me, I just thought Manning was a big Counting Crows fan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjtbH0rOlRU

"Failure is Not a Destination"
Coach K on the Dan Patrick Show, December 22, 2016
it's really interesting to me how many folks (and talking heads) are cleaning out Peyton's locker. Do people think that he actually went through all he went through to come back for "1 more ring"?
in case they haven't been keeping up, his arm is getting BETTER, not worse….the arm is what went, not the brain….take a look at some of the highlights of the last few games. "laser" and "rocket" appear to be completely appropriate terms…
if the docs look at his neck after this season, and it doesn't show any degeneration, i'm thinking he's gonna be a huge threat next year as well……jmho

Go Seahawks!!! Hoping to see Sherman go off and get MVP! 3 ints, 1 sack, 1 ff, 7 tackles calling it now... Actually I doubt manning is that dumb to throw once at him

I’m traveling to Jersey City for work these days, and when I checked into the hotel, I was surprised to see traffic lanes blocked off, crowd control fencing, and a lot of big Yukon shuttle vehicles parked out front. There were lots of police and guys with yellow windbreakers and walkie-talkies in the lobby, and it turns out I was staying in the same hotel as the Seahawks.
The Broncos are staying about a half mile away in a hotel right on the Hudson, so in addition to all the blockades out front, there are always a couple of patrol boats trolling close by to repulse any attackers from that side. Perhaps they’re worried about the (original) Boston Tea Party (perhaps the Sons of Sam Adams?) coming down to throw all the Bud Lite with Lime into the Hudson. Suffice it to say that the ratio of civilians to the various flavors of law enforcement is about 1-to-1, and all of the agencies are using this opportunity to bring out their toys. There are all sorts of mobile command units, satellite trucks, trailers, towers, generators, and other puzzling types of equipment parked higgledy-piggledy all over the place.
I guess people will start coming into town today. Mostly it's just guys walking around with laptop bags over their shoulder and access badges clipped to their belt loops. I have seen a few guys wearing Broncos or Seahawks gear, but they seem to all have puzzled expressions as if they're wondering "Is this all there is around here?"
Last night, the hotel slipped a polite note under my door that said "Hope you enjoyed your stay, but if you wanted to extend you're out of luck for obvious reasons. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Hope you can come back and see us next time." I had to laugh.

They may be nominally "full" because they're one of the team hotels, but there are plenty of rooms available elsewhere.Last night, the hotel slipped a polite note under my door that said "Hope you enjoyed your stay, but if you wanted to extend you're out of luck for obvious reasons. Every single Marriott property in Manhattan and Newark has rooms available for both Saturday and Sunday nights. Rates seem a little higher than they would be for mid-winter if there weren't a Football Game of Above-Average Importance going on, but several nice properties are available for less than $200/night. I've definitely paid double what some places are charging on business trips.
I spent New Years' in LA and ended up at Michigan State's hotel for the Rose Bowl. The fact that I got a room there (not cheap, but a couple of bills less than the most I've ever paid for a room) is evidence enough that "full" doesn't always mean full.

Yeah, it seemed pretty obvious they were just buying out the whole hotel. I get a pretty good corp rate, so maybe they can upsell. Anyway, I couldn't care less and I'm glad I'm bugging out to the southern tropics of Philthy. There was a new class of people out and about today - wearing bright yellow (Steelers gold?) parkas with a Supe logo and "Volunteer" over the chest pocket. They were standing around assorted street corners and entrances to subway stops. Good gravy, why on earth would anyone sign on for such a miserable task? I hope they get to keep the jackets and they get some other good swag on top of that. "Excuse me, is it OK if I throw up on your shoes?"

I'm pulling for the Seattle Seahawks, but it will not break my heart if Peyton Manning wins his second Super Bowl.

I want Fox to win the Superbowl he should have won in Carolina. Go Broncos!
Seahawks lead 15-0 early in 2nd quarter. When I started watching, the score was 5-0, and I immediately thought of the lost prop bets and started laughing.
Few institutions have had as much Super Bowl success as a Vegas casino.
could not be a worse outing for foxy and peyton…
feels like Georgetown -2010…...

This is an awful weekend for me. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is dead, Duke lost, UNCheat won, and now the Broncos are getting absolutely embarrassed
This innocent bystander thinks the Duke @ syr game was the best, most compelling sporting event of the weekend.
Beats the pants off this little football game.
But halftime, yowsa, superb!!!
Gotta give props to the Seahawks buuuut...the Broncos look completely incompetent in this game. Seattle has a lot to do with it but Denver has really helped them out too
This game could only have been better for me if Peyton would thrown more picks. Don't know how you like the halftime show (couldn't understand the Chili Peppers and Bruno is always terrible).

I'm not a Bruno fan at all, but that was a good performance.
Feel terrible for Peyton. He didn't play well, but no one on his team showed up at all.
Mixed emotions for me. Estatic for Russel Wilson because the dude is a class act on and off the field, and very deserving of this level of accomplishment. At the same time, I feel terrible for Peyton. Denver as a team, just did not show up at all. They were beaten badly in every phase of the game. No QB in the world was winning that game tonight for Denver.
Peyton is still one of the best of all time, if not the best. It's laughable to compare him to Fouts or Marino who don't even have a ring between them. The fact of the matter is, Peyton has never played on dominant teams the way Bradshaw, Montana, and Brady did. Just at the Colts that last year Peyton missed the season to see how much difference Peyton made for them. He played on some good Colt teams, but none that were truly dominant like other great teams of years past.
Denver does not have a good defensive team, and Seattle had the best defensive team in the league this year.
Was pulling for Peyton and Denver, but not a true fan of either team so was hoping for one of those great games that went down to the wire. Just was not meant to be though. Seattle was just a superior team to Denver. San Fran would have probably beaten them too. The real Super Bowl was the NFC Championship game. It was going to be a tall task for either one of the AFC teams to be either one of the NFC teams.
Congrats to Seattle and Russell though. Great game and victory for them.

I've got to be honest, Peyton Manning's and Co.'s combined efforts in what was so obviously an homage to the late '80s Broncos was truly outstanding. A tour de force, even. Ricky Nattiel, Karl Mecklenburg and Sammy Winder must have really been feeling nostalgic yesterday.
