    The Izzone Steps It Up

    Check out this article.

Added Columbia coach Kyle Smith, "They're the best-coached fans I've ever seen. They duped us."

They were specifically "coached" to be like the Crazies, by Coach Izzo. He created the Izzone, hoping to create the atmosphere and advantage found in Cameron.

I guess that Columbia fell for it twice is what got me. How the heck...?

They not only fell for it twice, but with 25 seconds on the clock, the WALKED the ball up the court while down by 6 points. It wasn't even a fast walk. It was downright leisurely. They absolutely imploded in the last 1:30 seconds.

We did it against FSU in '96, in a close and actually meaningful game.

~tieguy (admittedly, this is the first time I've ever actually felt embarrassed for Columbia sports, which previously I'd never given a damn about except when we played them during my first year of law school at Columbia)

Hey, to borrow an old line from Terry Bradshaw, how smart do you have to be to go to an Ivy League school?
