    ACC Operation Basketball 2013

ACC Operation Basketball has begun, which means that insightful and generic quotes alike about the upcoming season are soon to be used and reused by all of the excellent and not-so-excellent journalists and bloggers alike.

May this thread serve as a receptacle for them all.

Today started with a gem from Coach K, as reported by ESPN's college basketball Twitter account.

Coach was asked if he could summarize recruiting in a single word.

    No.
    Brevity is wit.

    Interview with Coach K: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=9832921

    Nothing really new

    Key points:
-Jabari is extremely coachable and already seems to be one of Coach K's favorites
-Jabari doesn't have an insane ego, making it easy for his players to like him
-Hood and Jabari are the most talented players, despite not playing a second for Duke
-West Point trip was a great way for players to connect with heroes and leaders
-Coach K is looking forward to the "new" ACC
Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things. - Winston Churchill

Laura Keeley with the money quote:

#duke's Mike Krzyzewski was told tyler thornton said Andre Dawkins is a better defender now. "That wouldn't take much," K said.
    Damn, K.
<devildeac> anyone playing drinking games by now?
    7:49:36<Wander> drink every qb run?
7:49:38<loran16> umm, drink every time asack rushes?
7:49:38<wolfybeard> @devildeac: drink when Asack runs a keeper
7:49:39 PM<CB&B> any time zack runs, drink
