My annual reminder of how old I am

Beloit does it again. Calvin and Hobbes was the punch in the gut this year.

I see no possible way this wouldn't just constantly skip anytime the car was moving.

Well, you gotta tape a quarter or two to the tone arm, right over the stylus needle.

And park the car. And turn the engine off.

Actually, I think this option was targeted for those drivers who frequented visiting the local passion pit (aka drive-in) and/or were frequent participants in the pastime known as submarine racing.

Actually they were aimed toward that portion of the population who would later ONLY purchase Apple products.

I think the last drive-in movies I saw was a double feature of Herbie the Love Bug and Gus the Kicking Mule.

Which again makes me feel old.

My punch in the gut was even before the list:

"they will not glimpse until they reach what we currently consider 'retirement age.'”

The Jerry Garcia hit me this summer, when I was served pizza by a girl with a Grateful Dead tattoo. She was clearly a college age kid, and looked about 18 years old. It struck me that she was likely born within a year of Jerry dying, and could not have ever seen a show.
