Nice. I like the idea of having Legolas and Kate Austen in the film. Jackson has earned the right, and I would imagine the trust of the vast majority of fans, to add a character or two into his adaptations.
Major geek alert!!!

Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

Was there never a full thread on this flick?
Just did a couple searches and this is the only thread I could find!!!
I wanted to see what people's opinions were of the movie.
To me:
- Movie was incredibly long.
- The dragon was very, very cool.
- Barrel scene was a bit too video-gamey to me. One dwarf's barrel hopped the river three times. Just a bit much.
It was discussed some in the Winter Box Office thread. I remember criticizing Jason Evans for complaining about the length of the movie, saying something about how anyone who invests their time in a Peter Jackson movie knows what he (or she, but really he) is getting into. Even if he isn't bloated anymore, his movies are. I gave up after The Fellowship of the Ring.
When it comes to time management, he may be the worst human being ever.
