Not wishing to clutter up the MLB thread, as Blue in the Face and I try to recall the past (he links to a great cribsheet), I thought I'd present a new thread consisting (at the start) of a sweet photo history of Comiskey Park as collected by Redeye. It starts with opening day of 1910 and ends with its demolition in 1991. These are remarkable pictures and any baseball-lover will enjoy seeing the faces with the names. There is even a pre-Duke connection (pic #35) showing Enos Slaughter walking off the field, uniform torn off after a fight. But faces such as Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, really young Joe Dimaggio and Ted Williams and others are seen throughout. There are heavyweight fights, early NFL, a Beatles concert, a World Series celebration and more. It's a kick to look back at the ole park. I saw my first MLB game there in 1954.

Or, if you prefer, here's Redeye's photo history of Wrigley. 1914 on...

IMO, the Comiskey stuff is more engaging. YMMV.

As BlueitF said, this is a good way to kill time--at work--or anywhere else.
