New Jets GM a Duke Guy

John Idzik announced as GM today. As a Jets fan (condolences gratefully accepted), I'm curious about him.

Press release said he coached at Duke and got a masters in '92.

Anyone know anything about him? Geesh we need help.

    Thanks...

His first act will be to trade Tim Tebow for a case of chlamydia.

On the plus side, he can't really make things worse.

Thanks for the trip down (bad) memory lane. We WERE season ticket holders from the Titan days at the Polo Grounds...

I would say that Freeman McNeill had a decent career for us, and while O'Brien certainly was no where near Marino, he also had a decent career (when the OL actually allowed him to stay upright). And didn't Lageman (a UVA guy I think) have a decent career after he left us (Bucs? Jags?)

Thanks. Truly disfunctional. What good GM (or OC) would take a job knowing that the head coach may be a lame duck, with awful cap (read Sanchez) problems. We lost all 3 coordinators and a bunch of staff coaches.

Woody has a thing for Rex, for soime reason. Actually gave him input into the GM decision. Smarter strategy would have been to fire both Rex and Tannenbaum (former GM) and let the new GM select his coach. And...Idsik is supposed to be another 'Capologist" not a personnel/talent evaluator. That was Tannenbaum's presumed skill set (I repeat -- SANCHEZ)

No light at the end of this tunnel...not even an oncoming train.

BTW, despite ups and downs, you have a stronger D line and QB/WR combo. I'd trade mine for yours in a heartbeat.

Richard Pryor had a slightly different moniker for the license plate industry workers.
