Good one. I wonder how many other stories in college ball there are like this out there -- probably more than we would like to know about.

That just makes me crack up.
Get it...crack...oh man.

Sad to read, but I will definitely have to let show this to some of my Uk friends, who still believe Uk is the cream of the crop.
I love the line: "I don't know if the marijuana had an impact. I'm not a doctor." Classic.
lol or where he goes on to say "I went to my room and smoked some more."
I guess the Doc. didn't get enough in the park
Sounds like an excuse for a loss really. It's not like he was hungover or anything.
Not surprising to me at all. I think some folks might be surprised at the amount of drug use in athletes today and of yesterday, especially pot. And on the Duke campus, as well.
Pot's not really a particularly troubling "drug" to hear of 18-20 year old kids using. I'd be far more concerned with crack, cocaine, heroin, meth, etc.
well Ky IS called the "BlueGrass" state for a reason...
weed is relatively benign as compared to other stuff. The cocaine is infinately more troubling to me. That stuff is expensive... wheres a college kid get the $ to develop bad habits like that...?
THAT opens the door for all kinds of crooked boosters tampering with recruiting etc. They are lucky this story is 20 odd yrs removed. It coulda been a HUGE mess for Ky. if this was about a current or recent player(s)
"This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff."
Sam Perkins always looked more stoned than I could have been able to handle myself. My thoughts were that for this reason alone, he would be more missed by the holes than Jordan.
