    Bad News for "Hoos

Mike Scott out for season. He was having a pretty impressive senior season. Red-shirt under active consideration.

    From Virginia press release

"Virginia senior forward Mike Scott (Chesapeake, Va.) will undergo a second operation on his left ankle and miss the remainder of the 2010-11 season.

The 6-8 Scott had arthroscopic surgery on Dec. 16 to remove loose pieces of cartilage from the ankle. The second surgery is for additional cartilage work and to remove impinging bone spurs. He is expected to return to full activity in three to four months. "

    Thanks for the update, Jim.

This is bad news for UVA. Scott’s energy on both ends of the court was the reason they beat VT at VT in their season opener a month ago. Additionally, I believe a healthy Scott would have made a significant difference in their 6 point loss to UNC last weekend.

I hope he recovers quickly and gets a red shirt opportunity if he wants one
