Good stuff. Someplace I am sure he will be watching and grinning.
Just got back from Cameron where students are assembling 1,000 Viking Helmets for today's game in memory of Line Monitor Drew Eversen who passed away a few weeks ago. His parents and brother, a Duke grad, will be in attendance for the game behind the bench. Drew, who wore a Viking Helmet to all games and posted on DBR sometimes, was involved in almost every aspect of Duke, debate, a comedy group, his fraternity, he wrote for the Chronicle, but his main passion was Duke Basketball. The gesture is meant to show that Drew will be forever missed among the Crazies..but never forgotten.
Good stuff. Someplace I am sure he will be watching and grinning.
Thats wonderful!!! I look forward to seeing all the Crazies with the Viking Helmets on this afternoon!!!! What a kind and thoughtful jesture!!! Get out to Cameron earlier, and get some pics of the students outside!!!
Can't wait to see it. Sounds like a fitting tribute for a good kid.

Q "Why do you like Duke, you didn't even go there." A "Because my art school didn't have a basketball team."
Just saw the front-row Crazies in helmets . . . what a wonderful gesture of sympathy as well as of solidarity and Duke spirit. THIS is what distinguishes us from "the others." GO DUKE!!!!
Great gesture by the Crazies.
ESPNU featured a teaser of the Princeton game about 4:57; the shot featured Viking helmet clad crazies rocking out in Cameron. Way to go Crazies!
The students did great in honoring their comrade. I'm very proud of you guys!!
The actions of our student body were very appreciated by coach K as well (see watzone's press conference link); quite a tribute.
K also invited the Eversen family to visit the locker-room after the game.
Wow...where did they get all those Viking helmets?

This was a touching display of affection and a wondrous sight to see.
Duke Blue Planet has a nice video tribute up on this. Lots of Drew's friends recalling memories of him and his love of Duke basketball.

Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?
