I didn't watch today's matches but the Euros played out of their minds in yesterday's final six team matches. They always seem to play alternate shot better than the U.S. but to hammer us in best ball was totally unexpected. Woods, Mickelson and D. Johnson couldn't get it going in team play but each of them won his match decisively today. Apparently, the youngster, Fowler, made a number of birdies late in his match and holed a downhill 17 footer on 18 to halve his match.
The Euros seemed like a good bunch and they certainly had the crowd behind them yesterday.
We have some good young players in D. Johnson, Kim, Mahan, Fowler, Overton, Watney, Moore, Haas, Holmes, O'Hair and Barnes who I expect be a significant part of future teams as Furyk, Stricker and Mickelson enter their 40's.
