Roy Halladay just completed the 20th perfect game in MLB history and the second one (Dallas Braden) this year. The Phils beat the Marlins 1-0:

...since 1880, or thereabouts, according to ESPN.
Not much run support by Halladay's teammates, but they got the win. I am reminded of Harvey Haddix in 1959; pitching for the Pittsburgh Pirates, he had a perfect game going but the Pirates couldn't score against the Braves and went into extra innings. Haddix was perfect through 12 innings, but finally lost 1-0 to the Braves in 13 innings.

An interesting fact about Roy, he took a no-hitter 8.1 innings in 1998 in his second career start as a big-leaguer before having it broken up by a Bobby Higginson solo home run. Here is funny article about his perfect game from a Blue Jay perspective from the BR:

And on Sunday Albert Pujols effectively had a "batting perfect game", 3 for 3 with 3 HR.
Add in Buehrle's perfect game from last September or so and we're seeing a wave of these things. Not to mention Ubaldo Jimenez's no-no from a month ago.
Speaking of Jimenez, what's up with the pitching dominance right now, especially in the NL? I know, it's the National League and it's only 1/3 of the way through the season, but there are 10 starters over there with sub-2.50 ERA's at the moment. From '06-'08, no one in the NL finished a season under 2.50. Now Tim Lincecum's 3.14 ERA is 23rd in the league. Carpenter's 6-1 with a 2.93 and a 1.14 WHIP and, at the moment, isn't even close to the early Cy Young discussion.
Is this just the post-'roids era finally having its proper effect, or what? Maybe, but still. Carlos Silva? Livan Hernandez? That I don't get. Has the hitting talent migrated even more to the American League?
