Why aren't we included?

Hi,

I've been looking on social networking groups such as LinkedIN for groups to join to help in a job search. I get to look at Stanford's LinkedIN groups too. What I am finding interesting is that there are number of groups that say things such as "Ivy League Plus," where people who attend schools such as Stanford, Cal Tech, the Seven Sisters, and a few others (besides the Ivy League schools) are allowed to join. The schools are not always the same, except for one thing--I haven't seen Duke included. On a few that are for business schools I've seen Duke (Fuqua) included, but on others that were supposed to be for "good" b-schools a number of schools are included, except for Duke.

Is this all just coincidence? Is this some "Duke hatred" thing? Do Duke graduates who are allowed in with these groups somehow do something that make people mad? If it was one or two groups it would be "whatever," but it is so many groups that it makes me go...hmmmm

I've always seen Duke included in the "IvyPlus" list...Seems like kind of a silly concept to me though...

So, essentially Ivies + Stanford, CalTech, MIT, and Duke.

Hi,

There sure are a LOT of pages of groups. We are included in some and not in others. I was looking at the ones that had a number of members (or so I thought I was, maybe I wasn't). Nevertheless, it appears from the last post that we are being included. Good to see.
