    Sports Trivia Question

Lst night, Christmas Eve, there were no games played in any of the 4 major sports leagues (MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL). This does not happen every year. Most years there as some pro sports games on Christmas Eve.

The result of there being no games last night is that this year there were 3 days in which no professional sports were played. Most years there are only 2 days of the year when you cannot attend either an NBA, NHL, MLB, or NFL game.

Can you name those two days that are pro-free every year?

    Too easy...

the day before and after the mlb all star game. Of course, it also gets into the question of what are considered major sporting games, etc though you did specify just mlb, nfl, nhl, nba

In a related note, this year also had the 2nd day EVER that all 4 sports had meaningful games on the same day (October 25th)

That's a better question. My first guess for the other year would be 2001, when the entire MLB schedule was moved back.

The answer is in white below:

Hurley, you are correct! It was November 4, 2001, which was Game 7 of the World Series and also had regular season NFL, NBA and NHL games that day.
