Yes the Cowboys looked pretty pathetic again today. The December swoon is beginning. With a late night win over the Giants, the Eagles will move into 1st place in the division.
Late in the first half of today's game between Dallas and San Diego the Cowboys had the ball in the red zone and accomplished what must have been the most embarrassing 5 minutes of offensive football. They had worked their way down to the Chargers 13 with a first down. A touchdown would tie the score, but after seven plays, the last three from within the one yard line, the ball went over to San Diego on downs. Rivers worked them out away from the goal line, but wit minutes running out threw an errant pass which ended up in an interception by Dallas at around the twenty yard line. In four downs Dallas managed to miss a field goal attempt. And the half soon ended. That stand by the San Diego defense has to go down as a masterpiece of how to protect the goal line.
Now, in the fourth period they have finally tied the score. They may still escape, but I have faith in Rivers to eventually pull it out, although that false start by the offensive line is not promising. Oops, San Diego just scored on a pass from Rivers.
