You mentioned that you made contact through this board. The site administrators might be able to assist you with additional information regarding this individual, information which could be useful in any sort of action to try to retrieve your money.

In addition, I'm sure the administrators would want to be informed regarding anyone who has used this board to scam. (Grounds to ban perhaps?)
wgl1228 did say he was contacted via email, not PM, so I suspect it was someone not affiliated with the board. If wgl1228 PM's me the email address, I can check it against the registration addresses, but I don't expect it to be there.

I do have to add that we're not in a position to police the transactions between people here. The board can be anonymous.

    The scammers email is blairjosh21@yahoo.com

He uses all kinds of nicknames but its usually Josh and then a fraudulent last name. He also gives a phony address in Miami, FL and a number to a payphone in a vacant lot.

No one with anything close to that address has registered on DBR. I'm sorry.

A quick google of his email address shows he's scammed people on:

    hawkeyereport.com
    tigerdroppings.com
    tigernet.com
    texasexes.com
    ohiostate.rivals.com

I guess we can add dbr to the list.

    Question to season ticket holders

Do you get season tickets mailed to you or can you print them off from the internet? I have a guy who's trying to sell me tickets that have to be printed off. Thanks.

I'm 100% sure that you get them mailed to you but clueless about being able to print them off.

I imagine printable tickets would require Duke having scanners at the gates. I've never noticed scanners at the gates at Cameron.

Yeah, same here. Once I replied back to them letting them know that I've never heard of that, they stopped responding.

    Same here

I am trying to find UNC tickets as well, and some guy "on business" up in Portland says he can email them, and another in DC says the same thing. I told them that Duke tickets are hard tickets, and you cannot print them off, and I never heard from them again. They were trying to get me to use Western Union, so I know they were trying to scam me.

I am still trying to find a needle in a haystack as well

LOL, the one from DC is the person that I'm talking about. I think we should report him.

    Ticket Question

I'd post a WTB but this being my first post and wanting a ticket to duke v syracuse, the realize the chances are nil.

So I'd like to pose a question.

I see on Craigslist some tickets listed. Most are ticket in hand (hard ticket). Does Duke sell electronic tickets? I'm in Wilmington and wouldn't be able to travel until game day, seems like an electronic medium would be easiest.

Thanks. I've been in communication with a craigslist seller that said he could email them to me.

    I'm guessing its a scam?

Definite scam. This happened last year to a DBR member. Don't bite. Or, mess with the seller and pretend you plan to buy. Scam the scammer!

To update, they do now. My tickets that I won through the bluehealers.org auction were sent to me via mobile ticket transfer on https://goduke.evenue.net/

This is true. Duke even encourages season ticket holders to get e-tickets now.

I got 2 e-mails from people and chose one of them. He e-mailed me and I emailed him back my number. He called and we discussed all of the information. He was very knowledgable about Duke and said his father taught at Duke for years until his death and thats how he got the tickets. We had a polite conversation and he told me what he did for a living and discussed Duke's prospects for the rest of this year. He said he had 6 tickets but 4 had been sold on he was currently ging to Fed Ex to ship them. After much discussion I told him I would buy them and he charged me $770 for 2 acc tourney books. I knew that was close to face so I went to a local grocery store and sent the money western union instant transfer. He gave me the details about the package and I could even hear him talking to the Fed-Ex lady. He said they would be here on Friday (yesterday). He told me that Fed Ex would ask me a question about what was in the package before the transaction took place as well. Anyway, the package did not come yesterday and the tracking number he gave does not seem to be correct. (I may have written it down wrong but I doubt it.) He gave me his address and phone number as well. I have called numerous times and sent a couple of emails but recieved no response yesterday. I hope there is no issue and they will come today but I feel sick about it. Those who know about the law is there anything I can do if this does not pan out and if so who would I get in touch with. I am hoping this is a nonissue but I will report the information of this person on this site in a few days if I hear nothing.
Funny story, I got a big check from Western Union back a couple of year ago for this. I don't know how but it came in the mail. I always meant to post about it.

This profile appears to be a scam. They offered me 2 tickets and wanted me to pay through Zelle, which fortunately didn't work, and then several different Venmo addresses, which also didn't work. This person's name is supposedly Dora Ruvalcaba, but then wanted to to try and send payment through various other alleged family members. Suffice to say, after the first transaction didn't work, I googled this person and found this number and a same last name was reported as a scammer selling tickets on a Texas A&M and K-State site. Not sure how to otherwise report this to the mods, but beware. Fortunately, they did not get any of my money.

You can report it through the “report” button at the bottom of a post. I reported your post to the mods, to pass along its contents because I don’t know where the original is.

Thanks for pointing this out, glad you didn’t get scammed! (It does happen to the best of us)

He's been banned. I'll leave this up as a warning to others.

And do be careful of Zelle as it has no dispute resolution.

Thank you. It was sent via PM and I couldn't find a report button. I appreciate your help!
