Ahem.

None of them actually had Baltimore left to pick. Denver vs. the Jets... is a tough call I think. I guess in hindsight picking against a team that has every reason to rest their players is a good idea. It seems like every team that was already assured of their spot in the playoffs ended up laying down (Colts, Patriots, Saints, Cardinals) except for the Chargers.

Chargers did lay down (Rivers/Gates/LDT only played 2 or 3 series), but the Redskins still couldn't beat them.

For us Redskins fans in DC it is finally some good news in the wake of a bad season, and horrible football decade for this storied franchise. The new 'skins Coach is to be introduced Wed. at a 2PM EST presser. Mike Shannahan (sp?) will be getting $7M for 5 years and taking on the additional title of Football Ops VP. His son is coming in, from the Houston OC job, to be the OC here. Most 'skins fans are delighted, as finally we get a HC with some automatic cache, for a talented but underachieving team that needs that leadership. It appears that our new GM and Mr. Snyder, the owner, will let Mike make his own personnel decisions. We can only hope - as many here blame Syder's "meddling" as a big cause of the recent demise. (That and some very poor decisions by ex-GM Cerrato, a good friend of Syder's). Finally we'll let some real pro's do their jobs apparently. Fingers crossed.
