I used to make them at work for lunch. Then one day a sign appeared in the kitchen saying that we were not to make "foods that might leave a lasting smell". I have no doubt it was directed at me. I have since ceased making fish sticks at work.

I very occasionally ate fish sticks as a kid, mostly at summer camp where there was no choice, but I can't say that I ever enjoyed them. I voted more than one year, since never ate them didn't fit.
    Ozzie, your paradigm of optimism!

When I was in elementary school, Fridays were "Fish Sticks" days in the cafeteria. The fish sticks were tasty, but the ketchup was nasty.

I had them last Monday from Pete's Fish and Chips in Phoenix. If anyone is ever out there, the place looks like an absolute dive but the food is rather incredible.

There should be a 20+ year option.

Yeah so I never really liked the guys when I was growing up. I always remember my friends freakin out over fishsticks like: "oh man, mom is makin fish stick, let's play Ikari Warriors until we beat it." I wasn't one of those guys. I hated them, with a passion. Anywho, a couple of years ago a friend busted some out... I enjoyed them.

Probably 10-15 years ago as the kids were growing up. They kinda/sorta liked them, with lots of Heinz ketchup. Lots of it.

I have to concur with both Lavabe and Ozzie on this one! It's been soo long, all I can remember is that ketchup made everything go down a little easier!

You don't know the worst food ever unless you have tasted Marmite. Its yeast extract that my dad eats on bread and made me taste. Somehow people get accustomed to it in the Caribbean but I don't know how.

And its Australian cousin - Vegemite. I don't think I could ever acquire the taste.

I haven't had fish sticks since before I moved overseas as a kid. I may have to get some to see if they are still the same - a greasy excuse to eat ketchup.

Fish sticks!??? Never. Although fish'n'chips in Sydney or London are a real treat. (Haven't found a place in L.A. or NYC or D.C. that entices me to order such).
