+1. My friend picked it up as Jack White within the first 20 seconds of the song.

Saw it this morning, thought it was ok. Daniel Craig gave an excellent performance, but the plot was exceptionally poor. I agree with Jason that the early action sequence was poorly cut, particularly when they were running through the tunnels.

I did appreciate the inclusion of Sienna's traditional urban horserace.

    Bond movie

We went to see this between soccer games this weekend.

In all honesty, I literally fell asleep about 25 minutes into the movie which is not all that easy with all the chase scenes, shoot outs, and overall frenetic activity that dominates.

I concur with those that have pointed out the confusing editing of the opening. It was hard to figure out who was who...and good versus bad.

After not capturing me at the start, I invested some more time to pick up plot threads which was also took too much effort.

I got bored and decided that a nice nap in the dark in a cool theater before heading out into the 90 degree sun wasn't so bad. Thankfully, we paid matinee pricing.

Call me old fashioned, but I actually like a story along with my chase scenes.

I actually thought that Casino Royale was a little dark and Craig a little TOO brooding for Bond. James Bond movies SHOULD have a little lightness, though some have overdone it. I hate to admit it, but Pierce Brosnan is probably my second favorite Bond. I thought he had an excellent balance of the intense and the suave. Just my humble opinion though. Could be because he was the first GOOD Bond in my memory in the theater. I saw the other good ones on TV and on video.

Craig in Casino Royale was my favorite Bond. I still liked him playing the character in Quantum of Solace, but he was hamstrung by poor dialog and a plot that someone needs to issue an Amber alert for.

LOL, that is hilarious. True too, I'm sorry to say.

Per above article QoS had the best opening of a Bond movie and was first in box office sales. I'm guessing this will be only week that will be the case. I've already heard a few friends indicate they will wait until the film is out on DVD.

I saw the Bond movie this weekend. It was ok. The action scenes were good, but the plot was hard to follow, especially if you had not seen Casino Royale. It's a dark movie. I miss the lightheartedness that Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan brought to the character. There really wasn't anything humorous about the movie. At the end, Bond doesn't seem satisfied, he's still on a mission of vengence.

I disagree with part of the above. Bond is satisfied. He found the lover who betrayed his lover who then betrayed him. And, he/they now know who the organization is they need to take out.

Bond dropped Vesper's necklace at the end of the movie. I took that to mean he was done seeking revenge and mourning, and ready to move on.

i like daniel craig a lot....and the way they are developing HIS character is awesome. Gone (thank god ) are roger more and pierce brosnan.

i liked QOS a lot more than most of you i suppose....The chase scene with M's assistant was kinda iffy, but i did like the car chase scene...this bond would just as soon kill you as charm you...

i agree on the strawberry covered in oil....bad call...

I think the opening song was pretty much crap...

Saw it last night. I liked it and had a similar reaction. I came away with the feeling that this was a deliberate effort to further develop - and differentiate - the new Bond from previous ones. Clearly he's much more hardcore but also seems to have a heightened emotional stake in his duties (so far at least). I prefer this approach. There's only one Connery so why try to be like him. I like that they're pushing Craig's Bond character in a different direction.

One other thing I'm liking is the carryover of Quantum from film to film - sort of like SPECTRE but maybe in a more significant way. Rather than jumping from one villain to the next as has happened with so many films, we're seeing the emergence and development of a nemesis organization that offers some continuity and generates continuing interest.

One complaint... why was Bond able to take out groups of trained agents, swat policemen and bad guys so quickly and easily all film long but then struggle for a even couple minutes with that wimpy Greene dude?

One of the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes pretty much nails it: "It doesn't feel like a Bond movie but the middle of a Bond trilogy."

Specifically, it feels like The Bourne Supremacy, right down to the car chases that defy all insurance policies and the snowy Russian ending where the hero gets his closure. (Come to think of it, Vesper and Marie are both doomed to underwater graves.)

An unexceptional movie. While I don't like the theme song -- the chorus is okay, but it can't decide on a tone and there's too much vocal riffing -- the opening credit graphics were the worst of the entire series. Saving the bouncing white circle for the end was a bad idea. The next movie better revive the visual traditions, or I'll be pissed.

Question: did Agent Fields reveal her first name? I don't think it was ever mentioned.

I had that question too, so when I saw it a 2nd time over Thanksgiving weekend, I watched carefully. No, she doesn't. It comes up during the credits only.
