Just because... LOL!
Happy belated Anniversary.
If you want to avoid the mess of live birds, I saw them selling fake parakeets on some shopping network when I switched to the wrong channel by mistake. They had both a male and female. The birds sang and moved their heads, etc. The sales person was quite proud of how much attention they paid to the detail of the feathers, etc.
Amazing what lack of sleep/too many hours at work will do to you - I actually watched for longer than 2 seconds.
What happened in the year, 1643?
Isaac Newton was born. Claudio Monteverdi died.
Umm, why is there no history thread?
Geez, four days without an EarlJam post!
Cheers,
Lavabe
This thread has almost caught up to you Lavabe...
I'm afraid to look on the EK board -- has the Taylor King thread caught up yet? :(
Here's the haiku poem my 2nd grader turned in for homework today:
flowers smell boring
what's the point to stop and smell
the roses, why, why
play basketball?!
The TK thread is slowing down. Time has a way of affecting things, as does the Alleva news. And Jumbo has been embroiled in an odd give-and-take with a certain Chronicle columnist.
All it takes is a few EarlJam posts, and the LTE will regain speed.
Say... where is Earl of the Jammeth?
Cheers,
Lavabe
I kind of can't believe noone has commented on the brilliance of my 7 year-old's haiku. C'mon people! He's 7! I try not to be one of those moms that brags on their kids all the time but that haiku is getting tacked up on the board by my computer at work.
Oh, and Go Jayhawks.
I am not normally into haikus. The only attempted haiku I know is the failed attempt at one that James Bond wrote for Tiger Tanaka:
You only live twice:
Once when you're born
And once when you look death in the face.
Does your 7-year-old have any interest in writing a screenplay?:) I just wonder if there's someone who might be able to guide the process ... hmm... ;)
Keep up the good work.
Cheers,
Lavabe
P.S. Is there a request for a Ymm... Haikus thread?
Ah yes... the LTE will pick up speed today. BillyBreen had avoided it for a long time too. Glad he's back!:)
Remember ... today's theme is: HAIKU.
Cheers,
Lavabe
You're helping to keep me going, DevilAlumna!
The 20 miler was the longest prerace training run. I'm doing 12 or 13 tomorrow and 10 next weekend, with one or two more 3 milers then nothing for the last 5-6 days.
The knees? Well, I recover fairly quickly, 2-3 days, even after a 20 miler so I'm convinced I'm not doing any permanent damage, but they eventually start hurting no matter what I do. When it gets too bad I have to stop and walk, particularly uphill. I will make it the full 26, I'll just be in last place. Hey, somebody has to finish last!
I will post my bib number and anyone who wants to can follow my snail's pace progress online!
