"And it's plain, why complain?"
Early morning trip to the dump! How fun!
It is all fun and games...
Who’s like, “here’s a barrier island, imma build a Buick dealership “?
Literally...needs a lot of work to get it right but I need a blue car.

My car repairs are finished and it looks like a new car! I had the repairs done in Mt Airy because no one in Winston-Salem could do them before October I was told (called 5 different places). The body shop in Mt Airy got it completely finished in 4 days.
Mark it down. Today is the day I lost all hope for humanity.
Yahoo Headline: 11-year-old who saved up money for a lemonade stand was scammed by a man who gave him fake $100 bill and asked for exact change
Look. It's not my fault he didn't have a counterfeit detection pen. The way I look at it is I didn't take advantage of this child. I taught him a lesson in loss prevention. He should have taken one look at me and thought there was no way this loser has a $100 bill.
full quote. sorry, 'buxton' triggered the memory.
There's a big hayfield up near Buxton...One in particular. It's got a long rock wall, a big oak tree at the north end. It's like something out of a Robert Frost poem. It's where I asked my wife to marry me. We went there for a picnic and made love under that oak and I asked and she said yes. Promise me, Red. If you ever get out, find that spot. In the base of that wall, you'll find a rock that has no earthly business in a Maine hayfield. A piece of black, volcanic glass. There's something buried under it I want you to have.

years from now they will still be reviewing academic papers about my Costco visit today. Out the door in 20 minutes, spend $557. Who doesn't love five and a half pounds of filet mignons?
Also same. No interest in Coachella or Jazz Fest (for more than one day anyway), but I did have a great time at the 3-day Desert Trip festival a few years ago (aka “Old-chella,” as it was held at the same venue in Indio). Six acts- Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, The Who, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, and Roger Waters. Two acts per night with shuttle service to and from the hotel, easy ingress/egress, reserved seats, plenty of food vendors and restrooms, and overall just really well done.
How many games of Freecell are too many?
Delightful. Just delightful.
One of the three remaining ferals doesn't look good. :(
Road trip!
SC, here we come!
I love that they are flame-testing these.

I might depending upon where the bidding goes. The car was for sale for a few months at $22k before being put up for auction. The CL ad showed a price of $17.5k but then linked to the auction. Going for the car: one of 10 built in '72 with that color and engine option. And I want a car of that color. Going against the car: non-original drivetrain and barely runs listening to the video, needs floor and trunk pans, front and rear window channels show some previous repairs that need to be redone and the interior is shot. Honestly, the whole car needs to taken down to the frame and redone. Not for the faint of heart (or wallet). The car will be a money pit as '72 model year cars of all makes never get the same pricing as their '70 and to a lesser extent '71 peers. If I could have gotten it for $12k, I would have bought it sight unseen. So, I was surprised by the $14k bid. I'll likely put in a bid for $16 near the end of the auction. I'm still talking to a guy in MO who would pick up the car and do the floor and trunk pan work.
That Armie Hammer just seems like a real nice fella.
Does salsa count as a vegetable? Asking for a friend...
Happy Belated, wilson! I thought about you yesterday but I did not post. Hope you had a great day!
I have a tasteless vegetable joke but I will only share if you pm me. As is generally to be expected from me, it is very offensive.
Next play...
Bad things come in groups, I’m convinced.
Nephew Alex has graduated. He looked very sharp in his regalia. He wore his 2 national championship rings.
Nice, definitely helps if ever needed in a jab/right cross combo. I had an acquaintance who won an NCAA Women's volleyball title back in the day. Her ring was normal sized, but that may be from a different era('92), gender, and revenue generation, Or all of the above.
I only win 86.25% of the time.
Big moon tonight if you’ve got a clear sky.
The moon helps the larcenous deer get to our day lilies.

Spoiler!
After many days of heat and high humidity, this morning with 70 degrees and low humidity feels like football.
Hey Ymo...can't find our trail cam convo but had a pretty good clip of a family of raccoons waiting for me when I got back from vacation. I can't seem to find a way to share it though. We can only share videos from web links I guess?
Yeah, you should be able to share from a YouTube account. This is in my Skylark.

Now I'm not someone given to hyperbole, but I think people who cruise in the left lane should be charged with a hate crime. And they should all go to prison. And some should be executed. And I would like to decide which ones.
Is this The End?

Good morning! Be safe out there.
heroic lawn mowing completed. Visit to the store for treats is in the on deck circle.
Ripped the band aid off the old employer. New gig starts in a few weeks. Quite a whirlwind.
I prefer 8 layer dips.
I just registered for OLLI classes at Furman University since I live nearby. I do get OLLI notices from Duke from time to time. The Duke location leans more toward online Zoom classes than at Furman where most classes are in person. One thing both the instructors and students like about OLLI is there are no tests and no grading.
In any event, I signed up for several courses this fall.
HFE554 - Chair Yoga

I saw Elvis Costello in concert last night at the Leader Bank Pavilion in the Seaport region of Boston.
Today is an epic mini-golf throw down between my husband, 3 of the 4 boys, and me. Paddies is in Maryland, but the rest of us are going to Kimball Farms for a battle royale. I WILL be leaving my purse in the car. I don't always win when I leave my purse in the car, but I have never finished last.
I hadn't posted for a few days so I thought it was time to catch everybody up on my life. I'm going to pretend you are all very interested. ;)
I'm running the Falmouth Road Race next Sunday, 8/21, raising money with the One Summit team. I have not yet reached the team minimum - I'm super close, but not there yet, so if anybody here wants to throw a few bucks at a very worthy cause, send me PM and I'll send you a link to the team's page.
Put the trail camera under the bird feeder tonight. See if anything comes shuffling around the sunflower at night.
Sad news. We went to an old favorite because it's always been a great course. In recent years they have expanded what's there to include bumper boats and an arcade and a few other attractions. Today was, by far, the most crowded we had ever seen it with a 90 minute wait to get on the course. Yeah, no. We didn't play. We'd already been in the car around 40 minutes and going to one of the other courses we like would have involved at least another 40 minute drive. We went for lunch then stopped at our favorite soft serve ice cream place on the way home.
Sometimes I think my toddler wakes up and thinks, "Today, I choose violence."
Loud laughing is not polite in Hawaii but a lo ha is appropriate.
mutton to it.
The pun thing really gets my goat.
My brain really just doesn't work that way. I don't come up with puns, whenever I do manage to make a pun type joke, it's almost always by accident.
