I had some oysters yesterday at my father's birthday dinner.

Eleven years ago at my parents 50th anniversary fish fry, my then 7 yo niece tried her first raw oyster. It took her a couple of tries, but she finally got it down. Pure stubbornness.

We had it all. Fried, grilled, steamed. raw. Oysters, fish, crab, shrimp. You name it. And I realized she was actually only 6 1/2 at the time. But very stubborn and determined.

The whole incident reminded us of a joke my uncle used to tell about swallowing an oyster. Anyone?

yeah, JAX would have been my 780th choice probably. Sprawling mess. But they do have beaches I suppose.

My wife always liked Jax Beach because she felt like she was the part of the beautiful people when there.

Agreeing in solidarity from the 7th grade trenches. The next kid who side-eyes me or re-asks a question because they didn't like the answer the first time is getting bodyslammed.
