I'm a fan of 3-Year Letterman twitter. Top tier trolling.
There is a fun little Hot 🔥 take in the QE2 thread that was posted. Damn I hope it starts a fight. I'm pretty much a bomb thrower, so I respect the post. Also I struggled with only 1 class in school. The bourgeoisie.
Yeah, I decided to post my personal experience in this thread to leave that one be --- but, my Scottish inlaws are very pro Scottish independence and hate the monarchy. They'll be up here this weekend and are in a very celebratory mood. Fully expect my father-in-law to say some things that would make many a folk clutch their pearls.
And I'm someone who thinks that the American Revolution was a mistake and we would have avoided the American Civil War if we paid the stamp and tea taxes for a few more years. And independence would have come anyway in the fullness of time. But my real problem with us declaring independence is we would have dominated The Commonwealth Games. DOMINATED.
I posted a link in the RIP thread to a story from one of the Queen's bodyguards about an encounter she had with some American hikers. She had a delightful sense of humor.
Drinking from a firehouse.
A phrase that is used WAY too much.
The internet is nothing if not rational.

I’m told that I am a “strong swipe left.” I assume that’s a compliment.
Reality is settling with the Vandy alums with respect to the state of the football program.
I hate when both games are scheduled at the same time. And I can only watch one of them. (No FS1)

Big big rain at O ‘Hare. It’s going to be a long day
Going to be in Durham in mid-October (for my birthday) this year. Two days in Durham then driving up to Williamsburg with my parents to visit T-Bone at W&M for 2 days, then taking the train from there to DC to spend a couple of days with the hubby.
Very pleased with that one.
NBA Jam voice; “He’s on fire”.
At minimum, don’t let him sleep with Susan Sarandon.
She's still hanging around the DAP?

I would guess a lot, at minimum, fudge their numbers a bit. These type of lists are basically for marketing. I don't think the expect anyone to check since it's on the honor system. Plus after our peak of 3 in 98, I think they tweak the methodology more often.
"Indeed? His physical stamina and mental resilience were off the charts. LOL JK."
I think you meant this.
Every organization I’ve worked for is convinced of it’s exceptionalism.
Gonna be a fun day: a tree fell just down the street, breaking two power poles, crunching a car, and blocking an intersection. Neighbor and I put some cones out.
No power for a while! Not sure how long my ups boxes will last, but somehow my Fios is still up.
Have to fire up the camp stove for coffee in a couple hours.

How early is too early in the day to make a joke about incest? Asking for a friend (no, really).

My neighbors just got a load of mulch dumped on their driveway by a large truck. Should I go roll around in it before they start spreading it out?

I love feta.
I like spinach.
I like eggs.
Spinach and feta egg tarts sounded like a good idea.
In execution, not so much.
Started my left arm sleeve today. It hurts!!!!!!
Two cats or monkeys? Absolutely. But you’ve got to get creative:

Living outside the Fried Chicken Belt is different. Must have seen 100 chicken joints in the Chicago area last weekend.

Early flight to Vancouver.
Neighbors somewhat confined to quarters as mother bear and three large cubs have taken over their yard due to fruitful apple trees...dog barked a few times then retreated.
Miami is that way. I sort of think of it as an architectural variation on the same theme in those cities. I think it's related to the fact that those are fairly new cities from a tall building perspective. Saskatoon is the exact same way although who in the hell would know that other than me?
my wife did find herself between a mother and her two cubs (maybe three?) a month ago but she failed to serve them food. I do have nice videos of the neighbors' bears in action, have no idea how to get them from my iPhone to here since I am old and confused.
The Atlanta airport has the worst TP. I refer to it as "John Wayne". Rough and tough and won't take no s...tuff off nobody.
I have been through there in the last couple of months. Watched an Angels game with dozens of other people while I was there. Did get to see Ohtani pitch and hit. Trout was out. They played KC and those teams are soooooo bad that if you combined their wins they would only be up 5 on the Dodgers.
Rational political discourse is back!!!!!!! I'm sweaty!!!!!!
just got my flu shot and Covid Fancy Booster at the same time, but I think different holes were required. Essentially no tears whatsoever. Had to start a second Covid shot card, eventually those things might be as long as the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Sushi dushi.
So, this week was annual check up week for my cats. Unfortunately, two were diagnosed with cancer. Grant, the soon to be 15 year old male, has been with me through 3 states, 2 apartments and 2 houses. He has greeted me home after an East Region semi shellacking by Villanova in 2009, Final Four wins and an NCAA title in Indy in 2010, Sweet Sixteen and Elight Eight wins in Houston en route to a 2015 title, and a Final Four appearance in the Big Easy in '22. On the football side, an exciting but ultimately a Sun Bowl loss in 2014. He will be around for a bit longer, 4-6 months is the current prognosis, but his cancer is fairly unusual: 1 in up to 30k vaccinated cats get it and it is fairly aggressive.
Mary, the most recent addition to the family, recently turned ten. Born with limited eyesight due to microopthamalia, she has been a Texan for life. She does share my allergies to mountain cedar. More of a Vandy fan she has been with me through 2 baseball titles and two runner ups, a couple NCAA basketball appearances and 3 bowl appearances. And of course two bowling titles (Hail Pinman). She is always the first to remind me when it is dinner time and loves to be pet after to aid the digestion process. Her cancer is a bit more common and current prognosis is 1-2 years.
I'm sorry to hear about this diagnosis for the two of them.
