I haven't had PopTarts in quite a while.
Y'all got me in the mood for a Pop-Tart so I had to stop and grab one this morning. Strawberry, obviously.
Haven't had one in probably a year or two.
When Paddies was visiting, he requested frosted cherry PopTarts. He didn't eat them all while he was here, there was one left. I had been resisting eating it but you wore me down today, you wore me down!
I haven't had a poptart in ages
When I was little, I would only eat Poptarts raw, I couldn't stand them toasted. Now, the thought of eating one NOT toasted gives me full-body shivers.
Interview 1 of 2 today was a success.
Told me they will email me their benefits package today and call me by EOD.
On to #2.
If you think it's hot where you are, it's hotter in Death Valley

I found out something about my father, Donald Burdick, yesterday that I didn't know before, he was the West Virginia State Chess Champion at the junior level from 1950-1952 and then at the senior level from 1954-1957, and in 1955, he was both. He won the junior championship for the first time at age 13. Sometimes he shared the title, I don't know how it was determined, but wow. I knew he was good at chess but I didn't know about his streak of state championships. He won a couple of national tournaments at the junior level too. He told me once that he faced a decision about the time he graduated from Duke (Class of '58), dedicate his life to chess or give it up and do something else. He chose graduate school instead of becoming Bobby Fischer (before Bobby Fischer).

#2 went even better.
I ran my sprinklers this morning. It rained enough this evening that I didn’t need to. I’ll be mowing this weekend.
Hockey. NBA. Pizza.
Also - thank you. Are you a Canes fan? Are there any big Canes fans around here? If they'd existed when I was a kid, I'm sure I'd be a Canes fan but I didn't start watching hockey until I moved to Boston. Go Bs!!
I grew up a Rangers fan, a Mets fan, and a football Giants fan. Tough childhood.
I grew up a free agent...
I was born in a cross-fire hurricane.
But it’s all right now. In fact, it’s a gas!
First hit I took was when I hit the ground
Been down since I began to crawl
If it wasn't for bad luck, you know I wouldn't have no luck at all.
Born free, as free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows
Born free to follow your heart . . . .
Born free, and live is worth living

We have auto plates.... OOPS-1. And his is OOPS-2
I was born in the U.S.A. Which means that right now, my passport is basically useless.
I did not realize until just looking it up that a child actress joined the cast of Daktari for the final year as Jenny Jones, a seven-year-old orphan that joins the Jones family. Anyone know?
Answer in white below:
Erin Moran, who went on to play Joanie Cunningham in Happy Days
I'll have to find a clip on YouTube or somewhere later.
Time to clear out the basement
I got the offer from the one I really wanted today:cool:
My first son was born in December, my second son was born in May. After that, I decided I wanted a fall baby. My third son was also born in May. So, I had a fourth son - in October.
A couple other threads led me to get Peaches. Ideas?
Peaches?

Blow up your TV, throw away your paper
Go to the country, build you a home
Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches
Try and find Jesus on your own

I'm trying to find an excuse to buy a Peach Cooler pie - has to involve other people so I don't eat the whole thing.
Here's a picture. Attachment 11309
Hurricane Nana does not sound good. Just sayin'.
It is 59 degrees this morning. Enjoying a few days without air conditioning - very unusual for Kansas.
Love eating fresh peaches—makes me happy too 😍😍
The vanilla cream on the bottom is really good. Tippins has used it on other pies. I want the recipe for it and the glaze they use.
August 1993 - between family events and work, I think I had a piece from 8 of these pies. True confessions - office of 4 people ate an entire pie in one day. We joked about just putting it on the table and all grabbing forks.
Early afternoon exhaustion sort of day.
Broke things I was trying to fix today. It was a "three trips to two different hardware store" sorts of days.
Today was a laundry day for me.
I did a load of laundry very early this morning. Too hot now.
Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack takeout tonight:p
Take out Thai food tonight.
Pork tenderloin with an Italian rub, spinach linguine in a white sauce.
Steak salad
Bump
Well, it is Wednesday evening.
I need to go to sleep.
Paddle faster....
I finally got to our farm tonight in western NC, about 4 miles from the Sparta quake. It's too dark to see much outside, but one stone retaining wall has some obvious damage and might be leaning just a bit. Another had an old crack that I think may have widened a touch.
The house itself seems sound - nothing obvious. No cracks in the fieldstone walls outside or plaster inside as best I can tell, all the tile work is intact, and the plumbing seems tight.
I'm waiting until tomorrow morning to turn on the propane for the stove. (Lat one night a few years ago, a house a couple blocks from me exploded from a gas leak. The couple rode their mattress up and out. He walked away; she had life-altering injuries. Their house was reduced to kindling. The houses on either side were knocked a little off their foundations. I'll play with electric. I won't play with gas!)
My SiL's brother is a general contractor. He's coming up this weekend to help with the inspection.

Apartment is a maze of boxes and vacuum-sealed bags.
I think I need to convince myself that I am moving so I weed out the crap I don't need.
One of my nephews is going through a divorce. I am using this as motivation to clean out kitchen cabinets and help furnish his new kitchen.
Sorry for your nephew. Sounds like you're being a good aunt.
We are going through him a virtual house warming. The situation just stinks since they have kids but I think it has been coming for a while. Don't know all the details, and don't want to, but I hate that all parties involved are hurting. Just don't know how to fix that.
Just put down a deposit on a new RV!
Salary negotiations are over and job accepted from company #2.
Now the hard part, turning down #1. They were super friendly:(
Exactly. I scored a stupid deal on a new Silverado a couple of years ago, and I really like having just one powertrain to worry about (but not much, at least yet). A camper on the smaller side like ours is also very easy to pull, especially with the max trailering package. I might go full driveable someday, but that would be way down the road when I can also afford to flat pull a Corvette or something.
OK, it's a small goal and somewhat ridiculous, but I am striving to be able to deliver the line "Smart!" exactly like Rachel McAdams does in this movie (it's in the trailer at about the 1:37 mark).

Right...gonna be right tricky to get from Wisconsin to Seattle without traversing the Dakotas, and honestly, the interstate route across North Dakota is easier and more scenic (unless you're desperate to see the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD). Then, OPK is right...dip down into the SD Black Hills via the Badlands and then head westward toward Yellowstone via Devil's Tower. Can't wait to do that whole drive again.

9.5 hours of mask wearing today. Woof.

My mistake - it is called Artistic Swimming now.
Are you holding your jaw correctly?
The Killers have a new album out.
They put on one of the better live performances I have seen.
Speaking of musical nostalgia, somebody shared this on FB today, not sure if I like it but it's worth watching once

Real nostalgia? Or the faux nostalgia when the times being remembered were okay but not great?
Yard looks like it needs to be mowed. One of these weekends, I’ll catch a break.
