One of them is a funny looking car - never seen a car with what looks like rotors on the roof.

Anyone got plans this afternoon?
Cats win. 2 more dubs and we're dancing!
Bilas may have gotten himself in trouble with that woman in bikini comment.
For reference, Barry Booker, a color guy and studio analyst for the SEC Network(and fomer Vanderbilt Commodore), was working in the studio during the half of a game when an announcement was made that women's gymnastics would be coming up. He commented something to the effect, "I do like to watch the scantily clad ladies." After the next ad break he immediately apologized. He hasn't been on TV since to my knowledge.
Jessica Chastain always seems taller to me than she actually is(5'4").
What a fun night that was! Seriously, I get that Cinderella feeling...
Wouldn't that be something?
Did Cinderella have to "Spring Forward"?
LCL strain. Could be worse.
About to do a shot ski.
Catamounts not looking good :(
I'm salty. Probably will not go to the game tomorrow.
Go Furman or Chattanooga!
I need to go the Costco this week. Aside from avoiding the food choices, am I taking my life in my own hands?!
Spring break here too, got 3 of my boys home for the week.
There are two weeks during the school year where San Antonio traffic is tolerable: Spring Break and Fiesta. I’d hate to lose Fiesta.
Car pooling tomorrow. Though we asked ourselves with oil prices cratering did we really need to?
An exhausting trudge. They were out of their cart handle wipes which I normally don't use but that was off-putting. Smarty-pants me did bring a pair of disposable gloves though.
Jammed at 10:30am. They were restricting toilet paper to two 30 packs/customer, fine.
The checkout lines were halfway back into the store. A long haul of a morning.
Ha!
But, truthfully, I wouldn't try to get it back from UVM. It's a hard-working smaller public university that manages to do a lot with a lot less. They recognized the brilliance of my sons and gave them decent scholarships, they get to keep the tuition for the whole semester - if it comes to that. So far we haven't heard that they are cancelling classes, but, it's only Monday.
One could hope but yeah it is a long shot. In theory, they could reduce their variable expenses in the near term...
I didn't hear of cancellations so much as I heard schools extending spring break and going all digital for the rest of the semester.
Why is toilet paper on the short list? I don't get it.
That reminds me of the little grill that worked on newspaper. As long as there was no color printing/ink.

They replaces the bulb in the street light near my house. It is far brighter than its predecessor. Maybe this is the HOA getting back at me for pushing back on trimming some of my treees.
Seattle is quite a wonderful city.
Landing at 1am and being at work at 7 is not.
Seemed like everything was operating business-as-usual. All the service industry folks we spoke with said business was much slower and they were happy their commute took less time. Lots of locals joking about it as well.
Connected in DC last night and the airport was dead.
Neat trick brought to you by my theater friends. If you're tired of Happy Birthday, this speech takes about 20 seconds to say.
Out, damned spot! Out, I say!—One, two. Why,
then, ’tis time to do ’t. Hell is murky!—Fie, my lord, fie!
A soldier, and afeard? What need we fear who knows it,
when none can call our power to account
Yet who would have thought the old man
to have had so much blood in him.
The thane of Fife had a wife. Where is she now?
What, will these hands ne'er be clean?—No more o' that,
my lord, no more o' that. You mar all with this starting.
It may just take a little:

In the low 80s here today, with mid to high 80s tomorrow. Fans on for air circulation. This is the downside to this area. Sometimes we skip straight to summer. Or as the locals like to say, "That was a nice two weeks of spring."
Note to self: Allen Iverson videos may be a thread killer.
Anyone know how to change exhaust manifold gaskets on a 1971 Pontiac? And have a lift I can borrow?
And while it wasn’t napalm, I imagine the gentlemen in front of me on the escalator in his best LTC Kilgore fashion stated, “I love the smell of Brut in the morning” as he splashed half the bottle upon himself.
That is an Apocalypse Now reference does those that don’t know.

Awesome! That is a huge gap in my world travels. Haven’t been west of Hawaii. Need to hit Japan at some point. My parents were going on a cruise to there later this month that got cancelled. My father wanted to visit the family castle one last time and at 80 he isn’t moving around as well as he used to.
I think this is it but should verify:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kōchi_Castle
My father was born in Tokyo, but my grandmother was from Seattle. Her family came to the US in the 1890s I believe. I have recordings of the family history from my father’s side. Less detail about my the Shinowara side of the family.
I was lucky as a child when we lived in Germany in the ‘70s. My parents were very focused on taking us around as much of Europe as possible during our 3 years there. They bought a pop-up camper and using the family wagon, we drove all around Italy, Spain, Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, England and Scotland, Norway, and Sweden.
Ahhh, the Plymouth Volare...
Korea was a mix of family trips and school trips. Family trips took me to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Bangkok, Switzerland, Italy, Manila, and Guam. Multiple stops in Hawaii as it was "on the way".
Being in elementary school while in Tokyo, I probably wouldn't have appreciated the travel as much. We did a trip to the mountains (KEEP) each year for Thanksgiving and went to Expo 70 in Osaka.
I joke about my "deprived" childhood. ;)
I may have missed out on some benefits of living in the same place all my life but I wouldn't trade what I did have for anything. A most blessed childhood - great parents, great family, and great experiences.
February and March in the 7th grade trenches should come with combat pay.
After lunch walk outside, it is beautiful out.
9 PM and still 80 degrees outside.
Sigh, another evening of Vandy basketball. Down 12 at the half.
I went to 2nd grade in England. My father was on sabbatical. We did a whirlwind Easter vacation jaunt on The Continent (France, Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, and Germany in 8 days) but, other than that, I did all of my growing up in Durham, so, I both moved around and stayed put!
Jets are busy tonight. Maybe they are moving them all out of the corona zone they set up next to the Air Force base?
The story works better if it were Durham in England also.
Thanks to all of you who made the Demolition Man references. Lol.
You are right, consider the story changed!
I once told a friend one of my favorite life stories. She looked at me and said, "Is that really true?" I said, "Yes, but I changed a couple of small details to make the story better." And she asked, "What part of Ireland are you from?" Her last name is O'Brien.
Last week, in an effort to help prove Our Blue is Best, I made my annual donation to the Iron Dukes.
A week later, all Duke Athletics events have been cancelled.
Correlation or causation? What say you?
With no tournament to watch, giving me an excuse to sit an do nothing for a bit each weekend, what should I do to allow that break in tax season?
I do have an abundant supply of wine at home - I may just have to drink it as a precaution. Isn't red wine supposed to be good for you?
Keep chuckling pilgrims. weezie's Finest Plungers will be hot hot hot in a week or so. I'm filming the commercial tomorrow. Cat playground look out!
For my chums here perhaps a small discount but shipping is extra.
In honor of my sister today

The house always seems bigger with all the windows open.
Get your windows cleaned and it's even more glorious!
Both of my children remarked that I should be volunteering to command the National Guard forces in New Rochelle who are moving through public spaces combating the virus on all surfaces.
Finally a job that might have suited my mania.
Instead I'll have to content myself with barking orders at me.
My children are wise guys.
What are they going to say when plunger sales got through the roof?
Okay, thinking obstetricians will be super busy early next year...
Top Gun
Romeo & Juliet has not been cancelled, but it has been postponed. We will perform in May.
My car club will be sponsoring a show along with a local company in October. We picked October last year because the car show calendar is relatively light that time of year. Now, all the spring shows are cancelling and rescheduling for October and November. There is going to be a car show on every corner by the time October rolls around..
Walnut or pecan? Pecan or walnut?
Subliminal messages, apparently. Most of the jets out of Lackland are trainers. So, not sure why they have been so busy the last week. They also house a lot of the drone pilots locally.
When panic begets panic...

So, why do we think some places are panicking more than others? I live in a state that has shut down all public schools for several weeks and also in a county that has additional closures announced by the state but the Wal-Marts and grocery stores aren't all that bad. Some shelves are light and there's no hand sanitizer but that's about it.
My most recent data point was yesterday so maybe today is bedlam.
I think locally, the situation was exacerbated by everyone returning from spring break in the last day or so. (They've extended it another two weeks until the end of March, but all the coastal timeshares, etc. are committed to later spring breakers.) But when they see low stock on shelves, they panic. Another potential contributor is that so many cases end up here locally due to military hospitals being a primary source of quarantined travelers. And the final thing I will say, is that we are good at this. Hurricanes can often head this way and occasionally hit us, so people are used to this to some extent.
We watched Best in Show last night. This is maybe my #1 favorite comedy movie. If you haven't seen it all, or even if you have - it gets my highest recommendation for a pick-me-up this March. The actors play their parts to perfection and it's brilliantly funny.
Grandfather isn't going to make it through the night. Prayers and vibes needed for my family tonight. My dad's having a rough day and I'm too far away to be there for him. Rough feeling.
Always a painful period for all. Prayers and blessings to your grandfather and to all in your family.
Thanks everyone. I'm currently at Camp Lejeune visiting my brother. He is very upset. The DOD is suspending leave for all employees due to COVID-19, so it's doubtful he will even be able to make the funeral. This is awful all around.
Headed into the unknown at work. Lots of meetings being canceled.
Thanks for the prayers.
When I have more time, I'll post a longer update. The short update for now is that my grandfather is (hopefully) going to be OK. He did not have a stroke, but has a bad infection and pneumonia.
Wife is packing up computer at work and being sent to work from home.
Several of my clients are closing down for at least a week or are at least considering it. One week doesn't make sense for a virus that has a 2 week incubation period.
Prayers for Matt's grandfather.
Clearly, we need more cowbell...
The county just ordered all restaurants/bars to close to all but takeout/delivery effective this am to 4/1. We lost our Tuesday morning meeting place.
I'll admit that every so often, when someone lays a complete egg as they try to tell a joke, or make a smart-rear response, it's exceptionally enjoyable to stare and watch the joke die.
That awkward feeling when the star of the conference call can’t log in.
We’ve been practicing post distancing...
They are currently programmed to be no closer than 1 minute. That should be good enough, right?
We are almost on page 1300. Perhaps we should have tried to get there last Friday?
But I have to be careful...
Everyone here gets jumpy and assumes they are the topic of conversation
Triskadekaphobia - I think that's how you spell it

This should do it.

Given his decision, shouldn't it be:

Ordered takeout from a spot across the street that just opened yesterday. Talk about bad time.
Also, went to two different grocery stores and they were out of pretty much everything. Sigh.
Given the situation, I'm eating from other stocks of food(restaurants) as much as possible. Keeps some people working, cash flowing and leaves more non-perishable food in my pantry. This is a time dependent exercise, some provinces in China are reporting zero new cases a couple months in.
Heading out to pick up sticks off the driveway.
What a blast.
I loved that game as a kid...

Just make sure you don’t have any mulch volcanoes around your trees!!

This was in my neighborhood when I was walking yesterday.
