Beautiful sunrise here this morning. I suspect it has something to do with the time change.
Half-marathon is done and dusted. Yesterday marked my first day without a run since July. It was beautiful.
Good for you luburch!
I, otoh, cleaned out all the old recipes and reorganized the remainders into subsets. We mapped out the new swing set parameters too.
Whew! What a weekend!
And I am super tired and irritated by the DBR Farewell thread. Hash, rehash, mince, chop, repeat repeat repeat. BORING.
Had a great conversation with Nephew Alex yesterday. He really enjoys working with the Clemson football team. Got his version of the team running to help when a car went into the water as practice ended. Someone from the Clemson staff came to the Duke strength and conditioning staff. Alex got a chance to visit with him over the weekend and he is liking his new position.
I told Alex that I'm jealous - he was able to come up with passes for his parents to come to a game this year. I want Aunt passes. Since he is on target to defend his dissertation next July, that probably won't happen. (Unless he gets hired full time for next season.)
Enjoy the game. If you run into a tall guy named Alex, ask if he has an Aunt in Kansas (he actually has more than one aunt in Kansas). :D
I'm running a 5k on Saturday. It will be my first real race since the stress fracture. I will run it in Grafton - the 30th different town in my quest to run a 5k or longer in every city and town in Massachusetts. Only 321 to go!
The Monumental Marathon in Indianapolis. Starting line was a five minute walk for me so it made sense :)
Best of luck with the 5k!
Why did the killer rabbits thread get locked? Anybody know? Don't repost the problem if it's going to get us locked! We've got a deadline!
I mean, I don't need to know that badly. But a description of the problem that won't get us locked will bring us one post closer to our goal.
I think a bunny kind of went berserk?
Or maybe a pancake stunned a bunny.
Inquiring minds want to know.
I’m concerned. I think the killer bunny lobby got to the mods. “It’s too soon to discuss.”
First, they take your killer bunny thread. Then, they come for you. History repeats itself in insidious ways.
Maybe if we had added something about Nate Britt, it would still be open.
Now is not the time to discuss killer rabbit control.
/ducks
I brought up Jimmy Carter. Was that too PPB?
Maybe we could only have one LTE? That other thread was just an LTE in disguise.
I started the killer rabbit thread because we had a thread on venomous snakes, a thread on bears, and a thread on alligators. I thought we were missing the real looming threat.
Okay, I just thought folks might get a chuckle by seeing that headline too when juxtaposed against the others.
I also figured it would drop to the second page quickly — its a silly thread. The locking of it is kinda baffling though because it is quintessential off-topic quirk. Maybe in fifty years when they unseal the file, we will know.
And I almost forgot an upthread post: the TP roll goes OVER.
On those occasions where a friend or neighbor offers their generous hospitality, and if I happen to use the facilities and see the TP configured incorrectly, I will take a moment to rectify (hee!) the problem so that the next patron will have a positive feng shui experience. This is one of the small but powerful ways that I try to leave the planet in better shape than I found it.
I have a serious addiction to home renovation/flipping shows. I know they are mostly fake and heavily subsidized but I can't stop watching if one rolls by on the teevee. It's sad.
There, that feels better.
In case you have never seen the pancake bunny

I wouldn't call myself addicted, but I watch several of them. Rehab Addict is my favorite. I have also learned that I basically hate "open concept". I want my dining room to be a room, not an area. And I don't want to see my kids all the time. That's what walls are for!!
Tonight I caught a little bit of one called Restoring Salem (as in Witch City). I suspect I will be a regular viewer. Then next summer when we make one of our summertime treks to the North Shore for fried clams, I'll make my husband drive around looking for the houses that have been on the show. ;)
Did I ever remember to tell this thread that last summer's Emoji Movie was way better than it had any right to be? I laughed out loud, several times.
:p :p :p
Could not agree more. I'm not a big fan of constantly being ready to entertain "family and friends" either. That's what caller ID and window blinds are for. Nobody's home!
Oooo, I'm intrigued. Sounds like you are a DIY channel swell; I'm too cheap to pay the extra cable money for that.
I am also very 'over' barn doors. Lame!
I'm the opposite. I grew up in a home that had far too many rooms and doors. I prefer the open design.
