Could not spork - gotta spread comments. Great episode on a "could-not-miss" tv series.

I'll trade you.
Can 207 million views be wrong? Why yes they can.
Sadly, faith in the posters on this board is often misplaced. Meanwhile, the LTE rolls along. Albeit at a pace slower than the Yum Beer thread. Yuck!
On the road again...
New pet sitter, so I’m a bit nervous.

Hot Sandia chiles. I pre-order from a farm in Hatch valley every year, get ‘em in August. (Google The Hatch Chile Store if interested). All kinds of heat available. This things are huge, and great for chile rellenos.
I finally posted a selection of pictures from this summer's mission trip on Facebook. I did not put up all 703 pictures I took. :D
I took as many photos of cats as I took of cars during a trip to the Trans Am Nationals. 6 pictures total and I was chastised for not being in any of them.
Obligatory post from 33,000 feet.
Should have posted from 39,992 feet today but didn't want to pay for wi-fi.
DaughterPK turned 18 today. Tempus sure does fugit.
Happy Birthday to the Young PK!
Sigh, back to school traffic is killing me! YMMV.
Good morning!
Bonjour!
(Starting to reacquaint myself with travel French)
Yes, les Francais will love your efforts. Remember to give big toothy smiles. They love our teeth, too.
Just booked my flight to Durham for Homecoming. Perhaps I should get a ticket to the game as well.
I assumed she meant for the tailgate.
Taking the train into Athens shortly :o
Semi-random post...
Just interviewed a candidate that attended McGill University. Had a nice little chat about the Duke/Canada tour.
On a more related note, what flavor PopTart did everyone have this morning? I haven't had one in months, but if I had one, it would have been strawberry.
I had powdered donuts instead of Pop Tarts this morning.
My pop tart was Bojangles flavored.
Had strawberry preserves on my toast.
Love me some BoJangles...and a large Arnold Palmer too :)
I had a handful of cherries.
I've not been on that midnight train to Georgia yet...
I’ve been to Georgia on a fast train, honey.
I wasn’t born no yesterday.
With a good Christian raisin’
And an eighth-grade education
Ain’t no needing f’y’all to be treating me this way.
By the time I get to Phoenix...
I'll be taking that 14 hour drive soon.
Jeebus Ymo, that's one heck of a drive. Hope it's not to move a mattress.
Car parts, almost always car parts. Yesterday I drove to Houston to pick up a bumper. 7 hours of driving. But oh is it beautiful.
We drove past a pick and pull place yesterday that covers 50 acres*. I don't think I have seen a larger location.
* searched for the business to find the size.
My score of the day was a 6 pack of Strawberry Frosted. Ignore those cuts of USDA Prime...
Currently drinking a G&T in Greece...don't mention it to the Ymm, Beer thread :o
Strawberry Frosteds this morning.
And my prior post should have said not to tell my vegan friends.
Attachment 8617
Cone of Shame sort of day here.
It can be a challenge. One of the neighbors went full-blown vegan with the fervor of a TV preacher. No matter the topic of conversation, every fourth or fifth word is "vegan". I am an unredeemable omnivore with no interest in repentance or salvation, so sometimes I will tolerate as much as I can stand and then make a graceful Irish exit...
I told a vegan friend once that my reasons for not being vegan were ones that they could not successfully argue against.
Here is what I told them. "I believe that plants have a consciousness that we do not and cannot understand. (My friend brought the fact that plants do not have a central nervous system, I replied "Hence my feeling that we cannot understand their version of consciousness.") Because I believe that about plants - I will accept you calling me crazy but you cannot argue against that belief. Given that, I believe that all of our nutrition needs require us to kill and consume fellow conscious travelers in this universe. The only way to avoid killing and consuming is to starve myself to death. I am unwilling to do that, therefore I must kill and consume. I choose, as a living being, to try to spread my impact among as many different species of living things as I can, therefore I am an omnivore. However, there is a limit on the breadth of my consumption, I hate tomatoes and chocolate ice cream although I will eat some tomato sauces."
Well, when I've gone out to eat with vegan friends, I eat vegan. But generally, we don't talk about food to avoid the obvious.
Some people can't seem to escape the police blotter.
Catching up on movies that I missed the first go-round, 32 years ago.
^^^Hahahah. Thanks for that laugh Ymo.
I have banned myself from the Midterms thread for 2 weeks.
I enjoyed two $3.25 margaritas from a local fast food chain yesterday. I'm fairly certain they were dispensed from an old Slurpee machine. (Okay I made that last part up.)
As a teen in the '80s, John Hughes did a good job catching the angst of the time with several films, most notably 16 Candles, the Breakfast Club. The one film of his that I had not seen from that era was on last night as I'm sure it was on a thousand times in the '90s on the USA Network. I can now cross Pretty in Pink off the list.
My first flight of the evening turned into a bus ride to Philadelphia instead of a plane to Charlotte. Waiting for my flight to KC now. Fingers crossed that it isn't more than 20 minutes late. My father always said "time to soare, go by air".
I got a new car today, by far the nicest, fanciest wheels I've had in my 20 years of driving.:D
The new generation of “compact” trucks is EXPENSIVE, too! I quickly crossed Colorado/Canyon/Tacoma/Frontier off my list, because there’s not much in the way of real savings vs. a full-size. I really wanted a V8 anyway, so I’m very happy with what I ended up with.
Will you be rollin' coal?
Oh, you said V8, nvm.
Phone chat with the IRS. Sweet whisperings back and forth wondering what the h-e-hockeysticks they are smoking up there in Philadelphia.
Those guys and gals Just too much fun for me.
I would, respectfully, suggest that 9/11 might not be the best date to test the emergency broadcast system.
So, if anyone was thinking of getting me a gift because, well, just because...I wouldn't frown if you got me this:

Way to go Ymo, you ruined the surprise party.
Everybody left.
Wasn't the first time, won't be the last...

Wow! High school kids having fun for a change. Nobody hurt, nobody threatened. Remarkable.
My house has neither caught fire nor been involved in a gas explosion. That stuff happened about 30 miles away.
It's scary though - I have several friends who live in Andover which was affected. I've heard from most but not all of them. These are times that Facebook is a wonderful thing. They have been marking themselves safe on Facebook and telling us all where they are staying for the time being.
Headed to the game, rained most of the way so far but finally made it past the storm clouds The problem is the clouds I’m driving through will be there by game time.
Duke is now 3-1 in events I’ve attended here in Texas. The loss was in the 2014 Sun Bowl. The wins were obviously today and the Sweet Sixteen and Elight Eight in the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
Good work Ymo. You were a splendid representative of Duke mania!
Very cool that you made the trip!
After the Sun Bowl, I drove my tents car from El Paso to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico across the Great Salt flats and through the Guadalupe mountains. Used up all my cellphone battery taking pictures, and blew out my tire just as I left the caverns.
That meant driving all the way back (about 160 Miles) in the dark, on a doughnut that could not exceed 50 mph.
To say that I was unpopular with my fellow eastbound travelers is an understatement. When 80-90 mph comes up on 50 mph through twisty two-lane roads, you can sense the hostility.
I need a job.
I did not follow my Midterm Elections ban. I am imposing a double time out on myself now before I get one from Jason.
Most of my infractions have been undeserved.
In other news, I had a Pop Tart this morning. First I've had in probably a year. Strawberry, obviously.
What I thought were strawberry Pop Tarts ended up being raspberry. I'm mildly disappointed.
Happy International Talk Like A Pirate Day, me mateys!
Why did the pirate give up golf?
Because he had a terrible hook.
Arrrgh.
Just what are you trying to say?
As long as you can prove that you were actually eating the PopTart with absolute expectation of a strawberry PopTart, and that a witness can back you up on that, when and if you can pass a lie detector test given by that guy at the Kroger's where you might have purchased the box of PopTarts we'll hold off on your PopTart shenanigans.
You might make national headlines, or at least the local AutoSeller in Battle Creek, MI.
I'm flying to Durham tomorrow.
I've been to Battle Creek. In winter...
A couple at church are short term guardians of a new born. She had an appointment for a bone density test this morning and asked if there was anyone that might be available to meet her there and watch the baby while she went in for the test. I think I only knocked over 5 people so I could be the first volunteer. Making the "supreme sacrifice" of taking time off work, I watched a 3 week and 1 day old little girl - I'm just sorry the test didn't take longer. What a joy!
I really admire them for taking on the responsibility for 3 months for a stranger to them. I would have a hard time giving the baby up at the end of the time. I hope things work such that they can all keep in touch or get periodic updates on how the little girl is doing.
Freaking Amazon, or more like freaking UPS. UPS may be surpassing USPS in my book for the worst delivery service. Not the first... not the second... not even sure how many times it’s been that they delivered my packages to the wrong house. I live in a townhouse, but it’s not rocket science. On the side of the building with 2 house numbers, there are 2 doors. My number is not on that side of the building. My number is the only one on the other side of the building, and the only door. It’s not freaking rocket science. I’ve complained to Amazon before but whatever deal they’ve got going must be the best thing since sliced bread. Grrrrrr.
I hear you, sue. Years ago I gave up on UPS and the postal service and just had stuff delivered to work. Guess that depends on your workplace. too.
I have things delivered to work if the package is valuable or alcohol. Someone over 21 needs to be available to sign for the latter.
I had a big box of items from King Arthur Flour delivered to my house once - I did get a few chuckles thinking about how disappointed a porch thief would be if they had taken it.
Sigh, more rain. This has been the rainiest September on record in San Antonio.
I saw that coming...
One of those days/times when you just cry mercy and hit the hay in utter exhaustion.
Every once in while, I'm in bed before 8 PM.
I stayed up way too late watching "Basketball - A Love Story" on the worldwide leader. Anybody check this out?
It's a weird series of classic basketball segments almost like mini "30 for 30's" with no chronology or pattern I could discern.
Last night's topics included Frank McGuire's first batch of cheaters, Maurice Stokes, Connie Hawkins, Russell, the 72 Olympics, etc.
https://espnmediazone.com/us/press-r...-a-love-story/
Gonna have to buy the book.
I'll tell ya what, this stuff is flabbergasting.
Straight up crazy town.
I have an annoyingly large number of random light bulbs burnt out in my house. Widely scattered; all varieties of wattage, style, socket size and degrees of accessibility.
Time for another scotch.
Compact fluorescents have spared me from light bulb changes for years. I still have a large inventory of them. It appears the industry has moved on to LEDs, I'll still be plugging away with the CFLfor another decade (or two).
But Ymo, those lights cause my makeup to look terrible.
I can't actually look that bad in real life can I?
Do it for the planet weezie, do it for the planet.
What a gentleman you are OPK!
Do I really need to buy Halloween candy before September is over?
Siigghhhh. Fat free Greek yogurt and berries. What is there to live for?
As many of y’all know, I’m a teacher. I’m one of the very few in the building who doesn’t keep a reward jar full of candy. The kids think I’m such a stick in the mud for this, but it’s actually because if I kept a giant jar of candy around at all times, then I would weigh like 500 pounds.
Reward jar?! What the what? When I was a young weez the reward was being right and being self satisfied. So stick that in your reward jar and hand me that candy.
What the hell did it just watch on SNL? Kanye West dancing in a Perrier bottle costume in front of a giant green screen?!?
I didn’t think the flashbacks would be this bad. I’m seriously concerned.
Trying out an air fryer for the first time. Small things excite me these days.
We have many a treat jar here at work, on days where stress levels are high, I've been known to hit them pretty hard. To prevent this, I now bring in my own "treat" in the form of a single Twinkie or Ding Dong. I find the relief of to eating said item sufficient to quell the desires for lots more sugar. Unless of course it is a really really stressful day.
I have no self control when it comes to chocolate. Or at least very little.
Zack Asack viewed my LinkedIn page. Does this mean I have to take a drink?
Be still my heart...Poldark began the fifth and final season last night. The opening scene was, cough, EYE opening.
Lord have mercy. Thank goodness for DVR...
I ended up having a mini Special Dark, Mr. Goodbar and a small packet of peanut M&Ms. It wasn't overly stressful for the most part.
Defense showed up when it counted. This Mahomes guy may make a decent quarterback. :D
That was hard work.
There may be a few things that are not made better by prosciutto — but I doubt it.
I had a full size Snickers. :(
Gazing at the clock in anticipation of a 5:00pm cold beer and grilled fish tacos this evening...
Looks like someone who writes for DBR has had some success...

I'll be uncle mattman soon :)
Saw Bruno Mars last night at Barclay's in Brooklyn. I predict he has quite a future in show business.;)
