I'll start us off by mentioning that yesterday Duke won by a gazillion against a team that nearly knocked off Michigan State while the Heels got schooled by Texas. The Heels are 2-3 against the Top 20 so far this year. Hmmm.
Go Duke!

As much as I enjoy a Heels loss, the youth of their team may portend better things for them. What they lack is good guard play...
Mini-trip later this week. Turn in keys at work on 12/30. Movers here 1/4. Move in LV 1/6 or 1/7. Start new job 1/12. :)
On a pissy note, because hey, it's the LTE and I can vent here, someone who I thought was a friend blew me off for the Farewell Tour on Sat night (let me mention that she suggested Sat night). I texted her on Sat am to confirm we were on for that night. She said she had to postpone but didn't say why. Then I saw on FB she was going to see George Lopez w/ her cousin. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
And if I may say, USC beat the snot out of Tennessee yesterday. :) What a difference a point guard makes. Heh. 22 different ways to be happy...
And ODU beat Georgetown at GT. Heh heh. :D
For the first time in 19 years, the kc chefs were blacked out on local tv. We were fortunate - once again the chefs snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Lost to Cleveland - whose QB is someone they picked up from the chefs.
Ok, first, this fell off the first page. Bad.
Second, I just saw a commericial saying that In-N-Out offers gift cards. Good.
Why are they two supa/superdaves.
As far as I know, I'm the only Bostondevil.
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to all!
Merry Christmas. We had a Christmas blizzard here. It was spitting ice pellets as I headed to church around 4pm. It was snowing by the start of the 5pm service. The 8pm and 11pm were cancelled. It is still snowing. I have a 3.5 foot drift on my front walk. And even better - my nephews shoveled my drive and my neighbors' walk too. It is still lightly snowing.
This thread hasn't had activity in 3 days...not a good thing.
activity has now been accomplished :)
Cheers!
My brother-in-law started a tradition about 15 years ago of taking a walk/hike in the Arboretum on New Year's Day. Weather only determines the lenght of the walk. The temperature will be in the low 20s at the start of the walk and feel like the low teens. It may be a short walk!
Does anybody know where I've been?
My posting frequency has really gone down and at this rate, I'm never going to catch up on the LOST thread by Feb. 2. What gives?
Just a little way to go to 5K!
Happy last day of the year to everyone.
May 2010 be filled with only wonderful things for everyone.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
Just thought I'd say hello to everyone here...and extend the thread:)
235 days till freshman move-in day (not like I'm counting down or anything)
We're now a couple days into 2010, hope it is going well for everyone.
Happy New Year!
Is Sue in LV now?
Mentally- for a while now, is there any question?
Physically- movers come tomorrow.
Thanks. :)
Packers are here today doing the last packing that I didn't do (read: kitchen). Then movers tomorrow. I'll stay Tues night at my parents' house and maybe Wed too- depends when my stuff gets delivered (will be Wed or Thurs). Then unpack/re-move-in (haha  ) for a few days and start work next week!
:D
Movers are here, taking my stuff away. I will see it again Thursday morning, though I will be in LV for good tonight!
My dad is good, thanks. The doctor is happy, and he joined a gym (his idea, or so he *thinks* ;) ) I do believe that he'll continue to go several times a week and won't bail after a week or two. :)
It was great to see several of you at the Penn game last week in Durham for New Year's Eve. Thanks Ozzie for the invite. Always nice to see folks in-person when I'm in town. Pretty cool location too - right behind Cameron/BB offices. See y'all again sometime soon (like maybe at the FF???)
;)
It is snowing - again.
They predict that the high temperature tomorrow will be 9F. :D
I have a dream...
I dreamed a dream.
Sorry you can't be at the same play festival again this year, Ymo. Saturday is opening night.
If it has to be cold, there is some satisfaction in driving my Duke blue car with it's BLUDEVL license plate and having the outside temperature display showing 9F. :D
The Pats laid an egg. So did the Bungles. Anyone want an omelet?
And tied at 38!
Tied at 45.
You know the commercial when the ref looks into the replay viewer but he's talking with patrons in a sports bar, and they say their not ready to go, can they go into overtime? Well, when Arizona was about to kick the winning field goal with 9 seconds left in regulation, I thought of that and said to myself "self, I'm not ready for this game to end, can he pull the FG attempt wide?"
Am I good or what!?! :D:cool:
Funny, my dad won a 4-game parlay this weekend. Hmmm. Now he can have lots of eggs (not that he necessarily would, though he did have some scrambled for dinner LOL).
Correction, that should be 4-team parlay.
Well probably, but he truly eats scrambled eggs so infrequently I doubt it'd make that big of a difference. Also, yeah, well, good luck getting him to eat an egg substitute.
Since when did the OTB become the MBL board? Maybe it needs its own spinoff...
Amazing how news that our football coach may be lured away can put a stop to any posting on the OTB.
Hey, some of us have a new job to go with the new year, and thus our posting time has been greatly diminished. Just sayin'. ;)
Sue - Hope things are going well in Vegas.
Do we have you to blame for the football uproar? You leave CA, causing a FB coach to leave, causing another to leave, leading to suspense/disappointment/hope about another coach? ;)
Hope was kept alive...
I've only posted three times in this thread, so tell me. What's been happening? Somebody bring me up to date, please, in just summary form.
And BostonDevil won The Charlie for her play "Almost Made in Heaven".
Summary: I moved back to Las Vegas. :)
Oh and we were once trying to beat some knitting thread elsewhere. We were trying to beat it until we found out it had something ridiculous like 100k+ posts in it.
Today is Monday and a holiday for many. But not for me.
Two posts in a row seperated by almost 3 days. Does that count as PWing?
PW'ing is in the eye of the poster.
Yes, as I type. Well they are playing a women's game.
Just had to say whats up? Seen this thread and had to be a part of it.
Welcome, duke4life bunchofnumbers. It seems like we've been getting several newbies here recently. I've been busy falling off the radar. Although I still manage to get my nether regions handed to me by Shamm and wilson in Scrabble on a regular basis. I've got too much theater stuff going on lately and I still have a dream of getting caught up on my Lost thread before next Tuesday. Wish me luck.
Good Luck with both the Lost thread and the theater stuff :)
Sorry for having all the numbers. Just a birthdate and something that I can remember.:D Kids here at school have my head hurting all the time.:D
Just helping the cause...
:o
s.i.
Always a good thing.
We had some snow last night - but only an inch or so. It was enough to make the floor mats at the grocery store float on a layer of melted snow. Unfortunately, I found that out the embarrassing way. Just wounded pride but it did make the employees run!
Well, I'm getting close to 5K. Wonder if I can make it there this weekend?
I'm still looking for the Kleenex...
The scholarship I endowed really shrank in size.
It's not snowing in Vegas.
In fact, it's partly cloudy and probably going to be about 60.
Woo-Hoo! No posts deleted today.
I haven't checked my post count in a while...I do kinda miss the PPB board.
It has been a year since...
I'll bite, since what?
1 year since bb visited here...
I've communicated with bb off OTB. He's fine. He just admits to a certain amount of obsessiveness when it comes to this message board and he went cold turkey on us.
Quiet around here. 4 days between posts? Has that ever happened before? That's just crazietalk. :D
Oops! It was only 3 days, 23 hours and 59 minutes between posts.
On that note, this is my 4200th post on DBR! On some of them, I have actually said something! Check that - I have said something important on every one of them -->> see below!

Too much travel has finally ended for now. But they are talking about several more trips already.
This is a good opportunity to give some props to Bostondevil for that humongous thread on Lost since season one. I printed it out for Mrs. Jarhead who hates to read stuff on the computer screen. Quite a chore, just printing it out, and she has finished reading it. That was much more of a chore, but she is now telling me things I didn't know about Lost. I've been demoted, and now she won't let me have the remote when we are watching lost. Anyhow, thanks for doing that thread, Bd. Jason Evans should give you an award for a job well done.
Just saw this thread and wanted to add my "two cents" which are really nothing more than that I truly do not like Carolina...scratch that I effin HATE everything that the school, sports teams, and alumnus represent.
Oh and I will most definitely have to check out the Lost thread. I am absolutely addicted to the show and find myself using the slow motion and rewind functions of my DVR while watching almost as much as I use the same when watching a Duke game. :D
And for the record, I really dislike the way NY state calculates corporate taxes. You get to calculate the tax three ways - and pay the highest. Plus they do screwy things with NOL carryovers.
I just like having profits...
Hey guys! You know what we havent talked about lately?
POP TARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Took the kids out to our favorite diner yesterday for breakfast/brunch. Number 2 son ordered pancakes and a side of pickles.
I asked him if he was pregnant.
Who will the Celtics pick up at the trade deadline?
BTW, What is the largest thread on here?
I don't think we can plan a gathering before hoops season is over. You will have to attend a Brunchgate during FB season. There will be multiple entrees and I'd bet we could include salmon. There will be multiple choices of liquid refreshment. And, yes, Snow Cap is a beer/ale ;). Pop Tart? :rolleyes:BWAHAHAHA
Celtics close to a deal for Nate Robinson.
T-Mac goes to the Knicks. They must have like 40 million to spend.
I think he fits in as a SG.
Did we really go a week between posts? Oh, my. That's just crazietalk!
Getting close to 5K for me...
1K for me, well sorta
Yeah, I've been rather distracted...
Is there a way to change your profile name? if i can't do it, wouldn't a mod be able to?
I think you lose your post totals if you do change. But I'm not sure about that.
Any update? How to do it.
I have no idea. You might PM a moderator and ask them.
It WORKED!!!!!
Bingo^
What's going on everyone? this thread has been pretty dead the past couple of days.
My brain has been pretty dead the last couple of days.
Here's a thought, Why is there a Espn/Chicago, LA, Dallas, Boston, but no New York?
C'mon that should be the first or at least second page made.
I know you would think that right, smh seems like a ny bias, how long until they put it up. The Nets just broke ground in BROOKLYN, so that would make 2 basketball teams;2 baseball teams; two hockey teams; 3 football teams.
I thought regular ESPN was ESPN New York. No?
Brag Alert!
My niece is going to co-host a new program by ESPN on ABC. It will be on Saturdays. From Sports Media Watch: "The second hour will feature Winners Bracket, hosted by Marcellus Wiley and Michelle Beadle. The show will review the past week in sports, with the week's biggest news stories placed in a bracket "to determine who's No. 1.""
It is scheduled to start 4/3/10.
Congrads to her.
