To Infinity and Beyond!!!
Is it too late to jump into this thread? How about if I offer money? As anyone knows who has walked into a cancer clinic of any variety, it's where you can find stories of great tragedy and of equally great heroism. My wife was diagnosed with an estrogen (-) breast cancer now 3 years ago (the threshold for being considered "cured" is 2 years remission with this cancer) and so I know a little of what you've gone through, BostonDev. I've just written you a check which I'll mail out this weekend. Good luck with your fundraising efforts.
I haven't read the entire thread so I don't know whether the observation has already been made but I checked out the posting statistics for this thread and guess what, no Jason Evans. I envision him struggling with the desire to make a statement of delicious irony while steeling his nerve with bloody rites of self-flagellation to resist the temptation to post.
To Infinity and Beyond....!!!!!
It's not too late, it's alright
It's never too late to join the LTE. Statistics on a thread? Oh wow! How to do that?
I'm up in Kentucky today and tomorrow. Cold and rainy. Bleccch.
Losing lots of money, but getting a sampler pack for devildeac. Some interesting microbrews here. Will report on the Ymm Beer thread tomorrow or Sunday.
Cheers,

When up in Kentucky and having a fit of insomnia, I wandered across a Showtime movie, The Mesmerist, starring NPHarris. Awful... until I saw Shammrog's friend from high school, Galina (you know ... the one who appeared as Le Chiffre's grilfriend in Casino Royale).
The movie was still awful, but seeing Galina in it forced me to watch it.

Not I, at least for tonight.
Now about Smoltz vs. Santana ...
Welcome Home, Wilson! We missed you.
Here are some of the events that occurred while you were gone:
BillyBreen tripped 3000 posts. He's due for a tune-up and an oil change.
There's a new moderator in town.
Tilly moved; Arkie and I are next, I guess.
Devildeac has gone through his A-Z list of beers he's loved.
EJam argued with himself just hours after revealing his Sagamartha identity.
BostonDevil is readying herself for a marathon.
Steven has a fever, and the only cure is more matzah brai.
Ymo is going through a taunting phase (but his avatar is still cute).
Cameron is bowing to the Lord of Jumbo.
Jason is writing about Lost and Idol.
There's more out there. Welcome home!
Cheers,

The TK thread is slowing down. Time has a way of affecting things, as does the Alleva news. And Jumbo has been embroiled in an odd give-and-take with a certain Chronicle columnist.
All it takes is a few EarlJam posts, and the LTE will regain speed.
Say... where is Earl of the Jammeth?

Thanks for the reminder, DA

Oh no ... I forgot about my 25th. I wonder how the reunions went. Anyone go to the reunions?

That wasn't an argument. An argument isn't the automatic gainsaying that the other person makes.

Sigh. I miss my 45s. They were all in my car when it was stolen a month after I moved to Boston. My apartment was robbed less than a week after I moved to Boston. It's a wonder I stayed. I had Rick Dees recording of 'Disco Duck' (hey, I was 12 when I bought it). I miss having it though. I also had 'Blinded by the Light' and Rod Stewart's 'The First Cut is the Deepest', I loved that song but I think I like Sheryl Crow's cover even better.
One of the few 45s that wasn't in my car at the time was the Bay City Rollers 'Saturday Night'. I may have to go listen to that now.
Keep on dancin' to the rock and roll!
I have a "Pure Disco" CD in my collection. It doesn't contain the songs you mentioned, but it does have Lipps, Inc version of 'Funkytown'.
Agree about the Sheryl Crow cover of 'The First Cut is the Deepest'.
