An 85 year old veered into my yard and crashed into my steel and concrete mailbox at 7 am. How’s your morning?
He’s okay, shaken up and embarrassed. He was driving his granddaughter to school. Hit his son in laws mailbox on the way out of the driveway then veered into our yard. Not sure what was up. He seemed cogent but scary because we have young children who play in the yard.
Had to use a truck to get it out of an absolute wad of concrete.

On another note, the previous owners buried their mailbox in a stupid amount of concrete and I’m busted from sledgehammering it. Seriously, could not lift the base until we reduced it by half. And then it took 2 of us to get in the truck.
Who drops 500 pounds of concrete for a mailbox? The UPS dude rolled up while we were at and laughed, “seems excessive for a mailbox “ he said.
WTH?!?!
