I've always been partial to: "I've Got Tears in My Ears" or "Drinking Christmas Dinner All Alone."

Dolly did a lot that was laudable ... and Jolene is at the top of the list (makes my top ten of all-time country songs). But she did a fair bit of schlock as well, and along with Kenny Rogers (sometimes in tandem) took pop-country mainstream. I celebrate the good Dolly, but I also regret the schmaltzy Dolly, and I do not feel shame because of it.
I’m Home Getting Hammered (While She’s Out Getting Nailed) by Banjo & Sullivan is a fun little ditty.
"Islands in the Stream" was written by the Bee Gees who then gave it to Kenny Rogers - who recorded it as a solo artist. Once the track was laid down, he felt it wasn't working and that it needed something special. Kenny Rogers then asked Dolly to record it as a duet.
There is no bad-Dolly list when it comes to songwriting but perhaps we should blame her for being too willing to help her fellow recording artists out.
There are sometimes when I don't get younger generations at all. I have never texted a crotch shot, accidentally or otherwise. Why anyone would want to receive an amateurish pic of someone's privates taken on a cell phone in the weird light of a bathroom is beyond me.
I took my mom, as she has been wanting to do this for a long time and is a huge fan of the show. We were allowed to bring two items each.
Pictures not worth much, not surprising, but we wanted to know. Dad's watch not worth as much as it could have been, but he wore it hard for many years. Still a pretty cool amount. Very pleased with the pins/brooches. The one I had done in Memphis almost doubled in value. And it took a while for us to find the right category for our lamp, but we FINALLY ended up in glass with an appraiser who knew what it was immediately and gave us a pleasing value (it's match was left at home, but she gave us a quote for both).
These episodes will air the first of the year.
Some of the lines were a bit long, but it was well-organized. I forget how nice the museum is and how close it is. Need to visit more often.
"Drop-kick Me, Jesus, Through the Goalposts of Life"
Ditto! Just . . . ditto. There are a LOT of things I do not get, and unfortunately, it is not just younger generations. I had a friend my age, a number of years back, who thought she had met a really nice guy. Until out of the blue, he texted her a picture that she was NOT expecting. And that was it for that short-lived relationship!
Personally, I don't understand how hard it is to not flash a gun in a live video. But I've never taken a live video. Maybe it's a rush.
My SIL is older than I am but she was in her 30s when it happened. All that is to say, Gen X and not digital native. It’s not something that appeals to my wife and me either. I’m all for different strokes for different folks but one of my biggest concerns as a father is the ease and permanence of sexual exploration in the social media age. It’s one of the few new parent things I think about now, even though my kids are young.
It’s such a vulnerable time and mistakes can be amplified now in ways that were somewhat containable when I was young.
