I like mine with lettuce and tomato . . .

I wore camo, my guess is that the women will say the whites the Navy wore were cuter. Can't argue at all with that. They don't know how to march though...
The guys that march the marathon in camos and full packs impress me! (And they finish faster than I can too!)
All this talk of "cheesburger in paradise" has me craving some Jimmy. So, I opened up Panadora and clicked on my Jimmy Buffett station. :D
I'm craving lunch.
One of my playwriting friends wrote a nice review of the festival. We both have a piece in it. Here's the link if anyone cares to read it. He said some very nice things about my play. (Ymo, spoiler alert!) http://shanahan.netfirms.com/news.html As of this posting it's the most recent entry. If you read it later, it's the Jan. 12 entry.
Found this thread and am feeling a little down. The thread started in early November and they have over 46,000 posts. Course, they probably have more members.

I too am craving a hamburger.
We lost power in our building, and soon will lose all connectivity. And even worse, we'll lose heat.
So I'll go home and work from home.
These are special days, kinda like a snow day in school. Grab a burger, work from home and have fun!
I too am working from home today. I've got the windows open, it's already in the low 70's (highs in the mid 80's today) and there isn't a cloud in the sky. Southern California has it's moments.
Must. Bump. Up.
Would I get kicked off of DBR if I admitted that the Duke bball game tonight is trez boring?
Nah, I'm kind of board too.
When I was at the spa last year, I picked up a neck roll, http://www.taraspa.com/index.cfm/her...k_pillow_9.htm. That might be something to have around when you're not feeling well, or had a really stressful day. I really, really like mine. In fact have it round my neck now. :D
Just thought I'd pass a quick update on the house. Closing is 4 weeks from today (2/11). That is the day of the Duke/Hole game. The seller used to work at UNC, and of course the buyer works at Duke. :D
The seller has agreed to the major repairs I requested, in fact wrote me a really nice note explaining why she is fixing those things versus some of the smaller things.
Ooh, that looks like it would match my microwaveable spa socks nicely!

5 hours since last post on thread. Sigh.
I was at my local poker game last night. 2009 has been a good year so far and 2008 wasn't bad either.
It's COLD this morning - wind chill is below zero. A good day to be indoors!
When the girl who hated me in high school wanted to be my friend on Facebook, I was surprised but able to overcome prior negative feelings. But now it's finally happened, someone I really don't want to be friends with has found me. What to do? (It's a theater person, the one I've sworn never to work with again.)
We're pretty much normal here in the Triangle (weather wise ;)) until this afternoon, it's 36 now. Then the bottom falls out. Temps tonight for when Sue arrives for her Excellent Adventure will drop to the mid teens with wind chills near zero. Tomorrow's high around 27, then it gets really cold Friday night - single digits, for the first time since January 2000. Saturday gets up to 36! I'm glad they play basketball indoors :D
Tilly, you need a new lollipop.
Get her address and send her something from dogdoo.com
I'm having a really bad day. I mucked up a couple of really important things. Can I go home now?
You and me both Tilly! Cept I went home to check on a mysterious alarm, buzzing, beeping noise my neighbor reported coming from under the house. Turns out it was a smoke detector with a bad battery (why there was a smoke detector underneath the house escapes me). Anywho, I had to crawl under the house a bit and managed to brush up against some of the ancient insulation.
I am breaking out all over my arms.
I took some benadryl.
I am getting sleepy, very sleepy. My eye lids are getting heavy, I can... barely... keep... them... oppennnnnnnnnnnnnnzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Hope things brightened as the day came to a close. But I'll bet you had a better day than the pilot of that US Air flight that landed in the Hudson River this afternoon. On second thought, that pilot, and all those people on the plane, just had the BEST DAY OF THEIR LIVES! Hope your's turns out as well, but don't hit any birds, or anything else, on your drive home.
And just think, tomorrow night, the Angus Barn!
I know!!! I thought I'd hit a dog as it was at night and the animal was in front of me before I could do anything. I, along with my boyfriend, searched for the dog as I felt terrible that I may have ruined a family's holiday. We didn't find the dog, but the next day my boyfriend found a deer on the side of the road in the vicinity of where I remember hitting the animal. Would rather hit a deer than a dog. I know how I sad and depressed I would be if one of my cats was hit by a car, thus don't want to be the reason of someone else's misery.
Big hugs, Tilly! Can't wait to see you tomorrow night :)
What the heck happened to our rating? We are down to four stars. We aren't a five star outfit here?
Yeah, because they still won't let me vote again on this thread...
Tilly: Hope the day got better!
It got up to 84 here today, but we're down to 59 right now.
This is what I saw working from home today. :D

7+ hours...
Hey all, thank you for the messages of support. DevilAlumna, fur babies were extra cuddly, thanks. My boyfriend came over too and cooked dinner for me. :D He such a sweetie.
This morning when he was leaving we were hugging good bye. Now for those of you who haven't met him, he has a beard, not a long one, a well trimmed one. Well, as we were hugging, apparently I didn't close my eyes tight enough as his beard poked me in the eye, or my eye poked him in the beard. That was a new experience for both of us. hee hee
Posting # slowing down on the LTE
Forecast to drop lower tonight as temperatures plummet and as folks party at the AB
Lavabe strangely quiet-working hard with school/teaching and/or Georgia?
Or, Lavabe plotting and scheming a major milestone post...
Me, I've been about as busy as I can be with work (but I will be at the coast this weekend):D
And me, I'm flying in my taxi, Taking tips . . .
TGIF! Woo - Who!
And a 3 day weekend. Life is good. :D
We have snow. The predicted 1 inch is past - we have at least 2 now.
But of course it wasn't the cold weather that did it. It was the house settling on the pipe.
Yes, we had the main water pipe coming into the house crack. It was a clear straight crack along half the circumference. It had probably been like that for 3 weeks or so. Not much damage inside the house.
Now comes time to discuss things with the water company. YCCH!!
Cheers,
Lavabe
Similar temperatures up here, -4 degrees.
We put a sweater on my beagle. The lab loves the cold, runs around in her fur. I skipped my run this morning, which was very disappointing to the lab.
So, is it a better day at work for Tilly?
Hello, all!
I don't really have anything to say, but just wanted to post in the LTE since I've been out of the game for so long. Cheers!
I'm going to see Notorious today!!! Woo hoo!
And if you don't know now ya know!
Ugh sorry to hear that Lavabe. Vibes to you!
If it makes you feel any better, I'll tell you a story. I grew up on the coast in NC. One hurricane season, a big ol oak tree fell in the middle of the street, which caused a main city sewer line to crack. When water service was restored, and everyone started flushing their toilets, the sewage had no where to go cuz the pipe was cinched. There was some sort of air pressure release valve in our front yard which broke, releasing a geyser or sewage. We had the greenest stripe of grass for years after that. :)
I was ignoring this post as I'm getting ready to buy a house and really don't want to read about bad things happening to home owners. Yes, yes, I know I'm in denial. At least it's not a lonely place.
Good luck Lavabe. Hope everything works out well for you, ILJ, LL, and MG (Miss Georgia).
This is why I have no problem with dogs doing their business on the lawns. I just need to watch where I step. heh heh heh
Will hover here a bit so Bing (devildeac) and I can share another road trip adventure. In the meantime, thanks Bing.
Here's a youtube blurb about The Road picture song (this is from the AFI special of the top 100 movie songs... it's #95):

The 4,000's were a lot of fun.:)
5,000 Cheers,
Lavabe
Yes he was - and now there is a movie about his life.

Dang. Can't find Lavabe's 5000th. Help.
(Y)MMMMM (beer) congratulations!:D
I meant no harm. Did you think my attempt at humor was in bad taste? I don't mean the crack tasted bad, I have never tasted these drugs. I mean did you think the joke about the crack pipe was inappropriate?
I hold Dr Lavabe in the highest regard and would never want to libel his reputation in any way.
Has anyone heard from Wilson? Did the female from the bar a few months back take him away from us?
Sometimes I'm just in a lurking mood . . .
Wow, I've never been called a wh*re before. :p
We were on national TV, yeah us. Did she tell you about my outfit snafu? I had worn, quite by accident, red and black to work Monday. As I don't really like going to games in skirts I brought jeans, t-shirt, and sweatshirt to the game. But, I forgot sneakers. So, I went to the game dressed as a very classy looking Maryland fan, but rooted my fool head off for Duke.
Which side is the 'TV side'? I almost always sat opposite the benches when I was a Crazie. We weren't called Crazies then. I did it or two reasons. I liked watching Coach K and I didn't want to sit next to the BOGgers. They were amusing but I didn't like being near them. We used to be able to tell how upset Coach was with the team's play by the color of his ears. Red was not good. We also weren't on TV as much then.

I figured some around here might be able to appreciate the above picture.
Just be careful of the 10th Avenue Freeze-out.
Let's visit the "ymm, beer" thread for a while and see what # of posts might come up;).
As of right now, DD is sitting on 4,999 posts - Hmmm, I wonder where he'll post the big 5-0-0-0?
:D:D
Congrats, Lavabe, on reaching that milestone earlier today. (And sorry 'bout the water pipe - hope it gets resolved with little additional water damage.)
Yes, we are anticipating the third 5,000 post in these boards. Does that put any pressue on dd? Whoops, should have checked that other thread...
Just thought I'd drop by the LTE and say hi from NC. :D
Hi!
No posts for hours...maybe I should turn on the TV?
Hope people are enjoying seeing the game live...
From the Carnegie Deli?
ESPN360's "Streak for the Cash, win $1 million?"
Just saw someone singing the national anthem at Baltimore's Obama speech.
Oh yes, the bass singing it got to the "OH," and you KNOW what happened in Baltimore.
The Park ranger next to him suddenly cracked a smile on that.
off to the EK forum for a while...
interesting rugby match going on in little john now...
