Woo Hoo! Congratulations to Michelle! Please invite her to a Brunchgate, hopefully when you can come too! I suggest the Alabama game when we spring the upset of the year!

As far as I know, she isn't leaving SportsNation.
I'm tired.
As in really freaking tired.
As in my face hurts. My eye sockets hurt. My eyeballs hurt.
I'm really freaking tired.
It's Beer-o'clock somewhere, go have one and take a nap! :D
At supper, I usually order wine with my meal, but anything earlier, I usually order beer. Earlier this evening, supper was at the normal time. My digestive system knows nothing about daylight savings time. It was expecting a beer. I was smart though. As soon as I got home I went to the refrigerator in the garage and opened a beer. Oh, my, it worked so good, I had another one. Now, I can go to bed earlier.

Car accidents increase the day after daylight savings.
Posting just to post, but isn't that the point?
Jimmy Stewart's best work...

She does nice work - I'll surf past SportsNation every once in a while. Looks like they have fun on the show. I did notice when they did an NCAA bracket show, some mis-informed wardrobe person must have made a mistake and put Michelle into an NC State jersey.
Thanks, Turk.
In her defense, they were doing brackets of the best plays over the years. It came down to Hill to Laettner vs NC State's shot to beat Houston. She liked the NC State shot. I can't argue too much with that - I could have gone with either one winning. I do need to point out to her that she would have looked better in Duke blue!
bump
My 1000 post!!!!!!!
I'm very happy right now.
Then you should be even happier to day, haha I know I am.
No lost thread for tonight? Guess not.
There's one now. A LOST thread, I mean.
Kool
Excuse me?!!! Laettner's shot was a planned play, perfectly executed within the allotted time. Lorenzo Charles' dunk of a badly shot desperation air ball doesn't come close to being a "play". It was a fortunate accident that crowned a champion. I'm very glad for NC State, who I consider my second favorite ACC team. But it wasn't a play like Laettner's shot. And yes, Michelle would look better in Duke Blue. Most people do!
You mean that wasn't a pass?
I didn't say it was a good argument for the NC State shot - just an argument. The Hill to Laettner play definitely gets my vote but NC State would be a close 2nd. There were several other good plays in their brackets but these two were by far the best.
This was halfway down the page. I almost didn't know where to find it, I'm so used to it being 1 or 2.
Ditto
This week has been pretty lame.
It's my fault, I have Final Four Fever.
Great day
Oh, what a beautiful morning! :D
Big day
Let's Go Duke!
This^
I can't do anything today without thinking about tonight
I kind of want to throw up right now...
Whhhheeeeeewwwwwwww....
Woohoo!
Best day in a LONG TIME
Last weekend and this weekend (yes I consider today to be part of the weekend) have been 2 of the best I can remember. Ever.
Agreed
Champions! :d
#4, this set's K apart from the rest
I am happy!
I don't know where else this question belongs, so I've decided to make my first addition to the LTE. I noticed that the most visitors ever on the DBR boards was in Novemeber (11/13) of last year, which seems odd to me. It lines up with the day of the UNCG game, but it was not during the game. Originally, I thought people may have been here trying to get updates on the game because it wasn't widely broadcast, but it seems that the record was set well before tip-off. Does anyone have any thoughts on the cause of that record (perhaps it's already been discussed)?
I thought that the championship might break the record, but it looks like that window has passed.
No but that's pretty interesting
Same^
Another great day?
That' sucks, so you think it's just a common cold?
It's actually a pretty cool event- UNLVino (www.unlvino.com). It's over 3 days @ 3 different strip hotels- tomorrow night is Bubbles (aka champagne). Fri is Sake (blech, not going), and Sat is the Grand Finale. Proceeds go to scholarships... but it's pretty much a drinkfest. ;) I got free tix for Thurs & Sat. :D
My friend & I are contemplating a hotel room for tomorrow night so we don't have to drive home, and then we'll both be really close to our offices on Friday morning. Oh yay.
Have to say that I've never posted here, but am always amused at its irreverency. Nice to see so many familiar screen names.
What a great week...Duke National Champions...baseball is back...The Masters is here...and I have my "League of Dorks" fantasy baseball draft on Saturday. But Duke winning can't be topped.
You think this is fun? You should see what we do over here http://www.crazietalk.net/ourhouse/viewforum.php?f=3 The LTE 2.0, which turns 1 year old on Thursday, has over 20,000 posts!
Irreverency is my middle name.
Boston Irreverency Devil
Mine is Duke
Welcome2 Duke DaSlopes
Sue - how was the UNLVino event on Thursday? Hope you had a good time. Did you run into Roxie?
No Roxie. I think Roxie's time may have passed... not that she ever really had one, but wishful thinking and all...
Anyway, last night was great! Champagne, sparkling, and more champagne! :) Yummmmmmmmmy! Stayed over at Aria because I didn't want to drive home after... wow is that place amazing. Technology is such that when the lights in our room wouldn't work, they had to reboot the system for our room. Everything is run through it- the curtains, the lights, the privacy & service signs for the door, the temperature, the tv... you get the idea. Also, a bonus for me is that it was 5 minutes from work this morning.
Tonight is the Sake tasting. I don't like Sake, so I took a pass on this one. Plus, I'm bigtime wiped out from yesterday and I have to gear up for tomorrow, which is the Grand Tasting. There's a crew of us from work going, my mom & her friend, and about several thousand of our closest friends will be there. I'm meeting up w/ a colleague for lunch then we're heading over (need to eat before drinking), then we're all getting together for dinner after.
Oh, forgot to mention- Bubble-Licious was at the Caesars Pool last night, Sake tonight is at The Palms, and tomorrow's Grand Tasting is at Bally's.
Tres fun!
Sounds like a good time. I get to go to a fund raiser tomorrow night also. Not quite the same kind - it's a Bible Trivia contest and silent auction to raise funds for the youth mission trip in July. I should stay at work but I'm going on the trip (adult sponsor - not a youth) and agreed to be on someone's team. Fortunately, we can buy answers and freeze other teams out so they can't answer. I'm counting on the other member of the team to be able to answer the questions.
Maybe I'll buy my auction donation - some wine, wine glasses, etc.
Have a great time at your event! Since it's church-related, I don't recommend treating it like a wine event. Or at least how I would treat a wine event.
On a side note, I mentioned that I think Roxie's time may have passed. I actually don't think she ever really had a time, but I wanted her to, I really did... I think I want her to be a part of me but in reality I'm not sure I can pull it off.
I came to this realization last Friday night, after THE perfect opportunity for Roxie to come out and play completely blew by me without even realizing it until it was too late. Ugh, I'm such a freaking goody two shoes, or at least that's how I felt upon realizing I missed the chance. ::Sigh::
I hate it when that happens. Although, I'm not even sure I have an inner Roxie/Esmerelda/Trixie. :(
Although I have donated wine for my auction item, I won't be drinking any during the event. We aren't allowed to have alcohol in the church. I will be opening a new bottle when I get home. :D
It is April 13th - do you know where your taxes are?
Way to go Oz. I e-filed to the feds over the weekend, and I mailed my NC return yesterday. Within an hour of filing my Federal return I received an email stating that the return had been accepted by the IRS. Cool, don't you think?
I absolutely refuse to e-file my state return since it would have cost $19.95. Mailing it only costs 44 cents.
I had to write some checks, too, but I have been engineering my withholding and estimated tax payments to keep my payments a small as possible when filing the returns. And for for this year I have lowered my estimated payments per quarter. Ain't it fun paying taxes?
Guess what guys and gals.
wow how did you know that was my question? wow weird.
I'm not your age. :p
I think I'll stay out of tis discussion.
Whoa this was almost off the first page. smh
BUMPAGE
Happy Birthday to OzzieDaughter! :D:cool:
Bump, just because.
haha it really is.
And it's almost fallen off the first page. For shame.
noooo not again
My first post in this infamous thread! Sorry it took so long.. continue on you fans of the current National Champions!! Man it never gets old typing those two words...
True indeed
Took the kids to see their New York cousins this weekend. Got just a bit of sun playing at the East 96th Street playground in Central Park (as in my nose is a hint of pink kind of sun).
haha did you just stay in manhattan?
Why do you park on a driveway but drive on a parkway?
Good ones (the jokes I mean, got a tiny chuckle out of them).
Actually we stayed in Yonkers. Since we were just there to visit the cousins who live on the Upper East Side, Yonkers was a whole lot cheaper and only a 20 minute drive to where they live.
I hate the fact Lost isn't new tonight, it was just really starting to pick up over the last few episodes.
Because they are part of the Eisenhower National Defense Highway System, aka the Interstate System. On Oahu, the Interstate connects bases like Pearl Harbor Naval Base, Kaneohoe Marine Corps Base, Hickam Air Force Base, and maybe even Scofield Barracks, Wheeler Army Airfield and Tripler Army Medical Center. On the mainland the Interstates connect mostly a lot of gas stations, hotels, outlet malls, and adult book stores.
I guess you didn't read the my entire post. I just forgot to insert an irony emoticon. ;)
What about Alaska? That giant ice flow (from which you can see Russia) is connected to Canada, so what Alaskan Highways would be interstate? By the way, in Hawaii they are designated as H1, H2 and H3, and I noticed only heavy traffic on them just like Atlanta, the Nation's Capital and the Triangle area.
Watching Flash Foward right now,
I'm watching "Tron." Jeff Bridges is SOO YOUNG in this movie.
Can't wait for the remake. :)
NBA PLAYOFFS!!!!!! Durant is a beast but no way Kobe loses this series.
hahaha why did he do that? oh wait your asking me right? haha idk. that's pretty funny if it's true.
When St. Peter's tomb was unearthed by archaeologists, it was covered in graffiti. I haven't posted on this thread before, so consider this me e-spraying my name.
I always preferred KG over Tim Duncan.
Why are they called apartments if they're all stuck together?
Good comeback
No lost thread?
The Lost thread was up before I watched the end of the episode on my DVR. I had watched the first 10 minutes "live", then went to play softball. Got home at 10:45 and started to watch it. Then I checked the DBR and read the first two posts and learned that Jin and Sun would die. I don't mind spoilers, usually, but this I wish I hadn't read. My fault. And as I posted in the thread, I didn't like the way they did away with them... should have been at the fence.
I will miss LOST when it's over. And to think, I only started watching it about this time last year!
Hey now!!!
what ever happened to vanilla coke?????????? i cant find it anywhere
Blech. You can have mine if you ever find it.
Now as for vanilla + soda... 2 comments:
1. Cream soda. Sometimes referred to as vanilla cream. But cream soda nonetheless. Dr. Brown's, specifically. Pure heaven. Don't even bother to mention other brands.
(Those under 21 should stop reading now...)
2. Vanilla vodka + orange soda = Creamsicle soda. Mmmmmmmmm. Bliss. :D
although I'm only 18, sunnyd and smirnoff is a wonderful combination
I don't know where in the country you are located but find out if you have a Sheetz gas station anywhere near you. You can make your own vanilla, or cherry, or lemon, or I forget what the fourth flavor is soda. I love it because you can add just as much of the flavoring that you want.
I gave Chloe catnip tonight. Bwahahahahahahahahaha!
Does anyone have Sonic drive thru chains where they live? They can hook up the Vanilla coke.
The BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I'm not mistaken, Catnip belongs to the mint family. Try giving your cat the gum wrapper when you chew spearmint gum.
Time to make the donuts.
