I don't think the late '80s/early '90s UNLV juggernaut (not dynasty, because that would require more than just the one title) gets quite enough credit for just how improbable it was. Not since Marquette in 1977 and Loyola in 1963 had there been a champion from truly outside the blueblood programs/conferences, and there hasn't been one since. UConn is I guess the closest, but when they were winning their titles, they were coming out of what was at least at the time a big-time league in the Big East.Quote:
