The little black pieces are slow, slow going.
Da Vinci never really finished the painting, so no reason to really finish the puzzle.
He started it around October, 1503, when a moderately prosperous silk merchant in Florence (Francesco del Giocondo) hired an unknown Leo to paint his third wife, Lisa. They were minor nobles, so Leo named the painting after her title — “My Lady Lisa” — Ma Donna Lisa in Italian, whose contraction was Mona Lisa.
Unfortunately, Francesco did not pay Leo for the paining so Leonardo kept it. He worked on it, on and off, until his stroke in 1517-18 and death in 1519 while in the service of King Francis I in France. Francis came to possess it, and it remained in French royal/Republic hands until being displayed in the Louvre in 1797.
So, finish or don’t. C’est la vie.
Might I suggest a homemade bug repellent? I started making/using it last summer, and it works. Best thing, you can put it anywhere, even on your face, and you don't have to worry about washing it off before bedtime, like DEET products.
I use 2 oz witch hazel (hard to find in stores right now b/c ignorant folks think it's like rubbing alcohol)
12 drops of lemon-eucalyptus oil (this is the repellent part)
9 drops of oil of clove (or anything else you want to add to make it smell nice)
I've put it in a spray bottle and I've used cotton balls to apply it everywhere. Much safer than DEET!
1 minute left on my DBR timer in my phone. Wasn’t able to finish your post aimo.
I long for a day when a car is no longer a necessity in my life.
