2 billion years? So my husband can now say he has 2 billion years to go before he has to really get going on cleaning out his garage?
Now watching from a fast food place in the airport. Crowd seems a bit dead. Due to Tre? No Cam Reddish?
Not sure I have the patience to venture over to the EK Board this morning.
Six years ago, my wife slipped on some ice and suffered an AC joint separation. She still can’t dribble, shoot, or take out the trash.
Get better, Tre!
I'm digging into a good, steady, bad mood. The cat has nothing on me today.
Downside to being a Dukie in a Big Ten state... Everyone in the office likes to pile on after a loss but no one actually watched the game so I can't even vent properly. I just want someone to hold me and tell me Tre is going to be ok.
I'm sending a gentle head pat. There, there.
I grew up in Michigan. I laugh when Beilein makes comments about sparty vs. wolvie hoops being a rivalry on par with Duke vs.holes.
Then I scoff. Then I change the channel and watch something on HGTV. Maybe a show about paint drying.
So, if you believe "them," this is Wednesday.
"Hey, that's Duke LaMere. You know what his name is? His name is Duke LaMere." - Dick Vitale, 12/2/2008
And now we know the real story of why he is known as I'm a real wanker for saying this.I'm a real wanker for saying this.I'm a real wanker for saying this.I'm a real wanker for saying this.ie V.
Road trip tomorrow.
Haha Dickie V will always have a special place in my heart for the shout-out, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a rough couple of weeks on campus after that game... Some people took it a little far, but I got to shake Coach's hand after the game so it was all worth it.
The Mariners' Museum in Norfolk is fantastic if you have time.
Gotta go to bed.
Hate to go to bed.
Gotta go to bed.
Did something happen to the goduke statsgeek site that I didn't hear about? It isn't working on my tablet at all.
Still gotta go to bed.
Still hate to go to bed.
Still gotta go to bed.
Holy moly! What's better than crawling under the sheets with no work in the morning?!
I am a lector at my church, and I have the first reading this morning. It is from the Book of the Prophet Isiah, and begins:
“For Zion’s sake I will not be quiet . . . “
Would it be bad form to wear my Zion Duke Uni ?
Need a quick answer, thanks!
I don’t know how many of you saw the total solar eclipse last spring, but — damn.
This is way cool, too — the cosmos are a tremendous wonder and presence.
Would make me humble, we’re that possible.
As we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. today, I thought I would provide links to some of his oratorical efforts. For me, Dr. King has always personified the "power of words".

I've Been to the Mountaintop:

Being a tiny state, we only got the lunar eclipse up here...but wow, it sure was impressive...on the tail end of a twenty plus inch snowfall, big cold air moved in (still -10 here now at 10:46 a.m.) so our
view last night had about as much clarity as is possible, thank you Canuck people for your very clean, crisp air..
Maybe it's not just you. I think you've got a real shot at head lector here...

And, I'm very sure these are lovely, devoted people, just like you are OPK.
No offense meant to anyone.
The main board is weirdly acrimonious at the moment. A lot of ridiculous arguing about how much and in what ways it's appropriate to hate unc, and people hauling out Biblical references to castigate K for his caginess regarding the timetable on Tre's injury.
Lots of people making themselves look silly over there.
How much of that is due to interlopers posting?
I will be spending April 8, 2024 in Burlington, Vermont. I picked Burlington before I had two kids decide to go to school there. Note to self: ask at the hotel where I usually stay when I go up there when they start taking reservations for April 8, 2024. I've told my sons they will all be joining me, no matter where life has taken them by then.
C'mon Dores!
I drove up to Newberry, SC with MrsPK and SonPK. Absolutely, bar none, one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
You think — “yeah, how cool could it really be?” And then you see it.
Have not picked out where I’ll be, but as a kid we went skiing in Burlington a lot. Maybe we’ll meet you there!
I’m so vain, I think these posts are about me.
Stuck home waiting for a repair guy today.
These morning news shows are really awful. And really loud.
This made me look up Dickey. I had no idea...
It's a Fleetwood Mac morning.
I've said this here on the deeber before but it bears repeating:
The Seventies were remarkable for the unification across race, creed and the sexes concerning the complete and utter breakdown in hair sensibility. No one escaped without a trove of unnerving memories surrounding their hair.
Hell, the Eighties only served to further the addiction.
Thinking about buying a manual Tacoma, but I'm embarrassed to admit I've never driven a manual. I think after a few YouTube videos I should be able to roll off the lot, right? :p
I still miss my manual transmission. I think you should go for it. Here is your first lesson.

One of my favorite memories is of the 2000 ACC Tournament in Charlotte. I was a senior in high school, and went for the first time with just my dad and not my brother, who was a freshman at Wake that year. We stayed with my dad’s best friend from Duke, who spent the non-basketball portions of the weekend teaching me to drive stick on his ‘66 Stingray convertible.
It did not suck.
I know it is probably obvious, but most of my posts are me talking to myself. I'm 50/50 on whether I answer.
I sure as hell stopped thinking about the lights going down in the F’n city.
Here we go! Beer thirty!
Gosh, I love oyster season.
A fine platter of Chesapeake's finest with mignonette sauce on the side?!
I demand a witness!
No basketball, no football = whole house got cleaned
Quite tired this morning and I left my k-cups at home. Attempting to buy less coffee this year, so I'm pretending this water has some caffeine in it.
I’m pretending that my Baileys has some coffee in it.
45° and windy here, brrrr.
Windchill of -40 tomorrow. Lovely.
My great grandmother, 104, passed away early this morning. She had an incredible life up until her last few weeks.
Wow matt! I'll bet that was one heck of a life. Straight up, no stops in between now.
Yep! She will be missed, but I'm happy to have had as much time with her as I did.
She never missed an Atlanta Braves game. I hate she didn't make it to Opening Day, which also happens to usually be her birthday (early April). I remember when we threw a surprise birthday party for her 100th birthday. She came through the room, said a big hello, followed by "lets make this quick, the Braves come on in an hour". :)
Odd, I had a great grandmother on the other side of my family who was the same way. Lived to be 100 and never missed a Braves game.
I'm sorry for your loss, Mattman. I bet you have wonderful memories. I hope someone has recorded some of her stories for the family.
My condolences also Mattman. Oh the things she must have seen in all that time. Simply amazing.
Sigh, had to endure another evening of Vandy basketball...
Now entering Week 6 of the ongoing AT&T Fiber saga.
Today will be my 6th home visit from a technician.
If my other options included literally anything besides Comcast, I'd be long gone by now, but I vowed long ago never to give that company another cent.
Plus, I've reached the irrational and unhinged portion of the proceedings, where even though I know that sunk costs are a fallacy, I'm just not gonna give up.

I don't like these looooong stretches between Duke hoops games. Sat-Mon stinks.
Keep fighting wilson!!!
I have a bad feeling about St. John on Saturday
I have a good feeling about St. John’s on Saturday... 😎😎
I've had AT&T Fiber for 5 years or so, no issues except for one. They didn't offer fiber service until Google announced that San Antonio would be one for their Google fiber locations. AT&T made the fiber connection made one month after the announcement.
You know that feeling when you want to drop kick somebody in the behind? Just a short skip-hop and a boot through the uprights?
I've got that feeling...
Bryan Adams disabled playing of Please Forgive Me through sites other than YouTube. Okay, likely not Bryan Adams Bryan Adams. I do in fact work with 4 Bry(i)an Adams. I'm sure they get tired of the comparisons, but I don't. I should probably give it a rest.
Noooo, it's Squarepants!
Someone is very, very close.
We saw three of the four Finesilver brothers at the Q Shack after the hoops game. Double meat platters for those guys. Impressive looking and very polite young men.
Went to see “They Shall Not Grow Old” last night with SonPK, and then again (this time in 3D) with Mrs.PK.
Incredible.
Catch it on the big screen while you can!
I didn't think it was possible to come up with a bad version of America the Beautiful. I stand corrected.
Nice voices, bad arrangement.
Ugh, why do the half times have to be so long.
I think this song is in my copy of Tiger Woods golf from 10-11 years ago.
I took an unplanned nap.
Sweet!
The Tax Adventure Ride 2019 is about to begin! Let's get up, get out there and fill in those forms!
Go LTE LTE LTE!!!
Wait for it, wait for it...
Getting closer!!!
A certain thread being shut down.
I discovered recently that I have exceeded my lifetime allotment of tolerance for mansplaining.
You've convinced me - time to pour a glass of wine.
You guys mind if I stop by over here? I don't really want to discuss climate change. ;)
PopTarts can be enjoyed any time of the day.
This is an excellent night to NOT have a political board
LTE is at page 1099, which reminds me of tax season. Everyone filed?
This seems as good a place as any to post this
Dairy.

Bought me a little Ford Ranger. Will get me an extra 8-10 MPGs.
Wait...should I have posted this in the climate change thread?
That's funny. I was about to post that at 6:45 this morning, the first week of February, I left the house in shorts and short sleeves. Then I wondered if the climate thread would be a better fit.
Congrats on the truck. I drive a Mazda truck based off the Ranger model. Been very good to me.
