Just surpassed 56k...
Too many Biscoff cookies.
I just passed...
The dutchie 'pon the left hand side?
… “Go” without collecting $200?
...the Sheriff, but I did not pass the deputy?
…the bar exam?
... the drug test?
… out?
A workplace training quiz where the questions bore little resemblance to the material covered.
Nap time?
Grocery run. Headed to Hamilton Ontario Sunday, but want to cook some fun stuff the next day or so.
Rain's a comin.
Flubber.
At what age do kittens learn to land on their feet? I have just seen, for the second time in a half-hour, one of our two 6-month lassies fall of the top of the cat tree and land on her side on our hardwood floor. Both times she was immediately up-and-atem again. I suspect I am the only one feeling pain from this, but she is only two weeks past her spaying and I cringe every time she conks something.
Korean bbq chicken and spicy hot honey Brussels sprouts.
Disney removed their channels from Sling, so no ACC Network at the moment.
Pan fried pimento poblano burgers tonight.
Kings BBQ for dinner tonight!
We’re all dining like the kings we are! Huzzah!
Gold Belly for the win.
Old school, radio broadcast...
When they first broadcast War of the Worlds it supposedly caused a panic for people just tuning in...thought ti was real.
https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-...22invasion.%22
The radiolab podcast looked at it. There isn't a ton of data that many people actually panicked. I choose to hope they did because it makes me feel better about my own insecurities. Literacy is my El Guapo.
Rainy rainy day.
More sun here but high of 86.
Looks like we’re through with the 100s here. Low 90s and 20-something % humidity isn’t bad at all.
Asheville nosedived to Fall about ten days ago. I think we get some mid-70s days later this week to make it more seasonably appropriate.
It's almost 60 in Hamilton, but really windy. Which sucks. Wearing my toque. Which I called a toboggan growing up. Not the sled.
I grew up in the Southeast (Alabama/Georgia/NW FL), so when they do, it won’t be my story. Maybe my kids’. The National Lampoon full issue of O.C. and Stiggs’ “Utterly Monstrous, Mind-roasting Summer” was pretty funny as I remember, but the movie stunk.

(Yikes, just read the first two paragraphs- didn’t age well.)
It was hot? I went to a fairly new high school, we were the 6th graduating class and I believe the 3rd that had all 4 years there. Cars were big, musclecar era cars. There were some nice Chevelles and a couple Shelby's, with a multitude of mid 70s Camaros/Firebids, etc. A lucky few had late '80s Mustangs and the occasional IROC-Z. I hung out a lot with the Datsun Z crowd. I lived at 56th Street and Thunderbird, a couple miles north on the other side of Bell Road you started running into open land and horse farms, Arabians in particular. Places to hide in the desert were plentiful, if you had a car that could handle the terrain. If things got too hot, relocating on foot was a viable option, just be wary of barbed wire.
We were actually a couple blocks north on 56th. In the 5 years we lived there, they dug up 56th 3 times to install drainage etc. We were on the west side of it, across the street was an Arabian horse farm. They sold out and it was all residential by the time I finished at Duke.
Every recipe I know lies about how long it takes to appropriately sauté onions.
Big ole’ jet airliner, coming to take me away…or something like that.
Dust storm warning
When I was 6 months pregnant with my first son, due to some funky circumstances that I do not completely remember, I drove a Honda Del Sol in Eugene, Oregon. I know I was at a physics conference with my husband and I know the car belonged to one of the other physicists, but I don't remember where I went or why. What I do remember is that I was still a blonde. The combo of blonde hair and driving a convertible lead to lots of comments from men, in other cars, walking down the sidewalk, crossing in the crosswalk while you're stopped at red light. Dozens of dudes doing their dude thing. I don't think any of them could tell I was pregnant, but then again, it might not have mattered.

New Federal Courthouse
That song holds up. The video, not so much.
I can see the purple and the ruffles on you OPK. But could you rock the violinist's hair style?
After a forced re-vote, this was our senior class song. My TX high school decided Cat Scratch Fever wasn't appropriate.
A week or so ago I preemptively replaced our 12 year old dishwasher, just had a feeling. Last night the 18 year old (90 in human terms) washing machine had the radish...right notion, wrong appliance, I think I need my appliance software updated, is there an app for that?
You need to meet these guys then.

Alright troops, let's rally; it's hump day.
Happy Friday 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I’m really surprised that Wordle thread is still going.
My 80+ year old hairtician is retiring, what am I going to do, go back to the days when mama put the cereal bowl over my head and pulled out the clippers?
For anyone who has seen the TV show, American Pickers.

There are some trends on LinkedIn that really grind my gears.
I guess you need to tell them you'll be going...

I’m turning my posting up to 11.
Is it too far to say that the death penalty should be reserved for only the most serious offenses against society, like cruising slowly in the lefthand passing lane, surreptitiously vaping inside and listening to anything like music or a show on your phone without headphones? Those are the 3 worst things I can think of.
Just when I thought I was familiar with all the mythical ape creatures along comes the Albatwitch and gives me a goose.

I really like mushrooms.
I don't want to post them for fear of death by flame but, after reading the front page article on Bacot, I'm kind of thinking Duke and UNC have switched places as far as program prerogatives go. UNC seems to be cultivating a lot more college-minded players since their, uh, ethics blip. Duke used to be THE college-focused players destination but that's been turned on its head the last 8-10 years.
Interested in seeing where Scheyer takes it.
It is Fat Bear Week...

Using a turn signal is very inconvenient when using a cell phone while absently minded driving.
I never use a cell phone while driving to work. It's too distracting and makes it almost impossible to get a proper shave with my electric razor.*
*I have one that makes "mowing" sound when cutting whiskers so you don't need to constantly be looking in the mirror to see where you've shaved. Much safer that way. :)
Fricking stink bugs are everywhere.
I got bit/stung by 5 wasps last Sunday. Fun times...
I tried to tell him last week to back off. Dang I hope the crazy people don't get that thread shut down
Both games on at the same time again.
Pumpkin picking and cider donut day.
Hiking and kayaking weekend. Glorious weather here.
foliage (aka "foilage") just about peak, really nice.
oops, it's now snowing.
Pumpkins bought, cider doughnuts consumed.
Don't rock the jukebox..
Got sidetracked by an interesting piece on the Golden Globe race of 2018.
Ran the Boston 10k for Women this morning - my 16th in a row. Told the hubby that I would be lucky to finish in under an hour and a half - 1:29:14, luck was with me.
Things going better in Nashville...
Air conditioning still going...
