Lawn mowed. It is going to get hot here. 102F today, 105F Sunday and Monday.
Ouch. Major heat wave coming up this week for much of the country, yuck:https://weather.com/forecast/nationa...plains-expands
The Wa Post's Capital Weather Gang has a story up on the 1980 heat wave, which still holds Texas records 40 years later.
-jkQuote:
Dallas-Fort Worth, no stranger to extreme heat in almost any summer, still has heat records dominated by 1980, including:
-All-time highest temperature, 113 degrees on June 26 and 27.
-Longest streak of days with high temperatures of at least 100, 42.
-Longest streak of days highs temperatures of at least 90, 79.
-Hottest month, based on average temperature, 92 for July 1980.
Every daily record high from June 24 to July 5, plus seven more later in July, still date to 1980 for Dallas-Fort Worth. Since records began in 1898 at the station, now housed at the international airport, five of 10 days with highs of 110 or higher occurred that sizzling summer 40 years ago.
San Antonio is a couple degrees cooler than DFW during the summer despite being further south. If I were further up into the Hill Country I'd be a couple degrees cooler than downtown SA. But is there really much difference between 100F and 102F?
Poldark?
Mmmm... Beer is less than 300 posts behind. Time to consider renaming the thread.
Only the strong survive, I guess.
Blueberry muffins. Again.
No fresh blueberries here unfortunately.
