According to Jake Weingarten, Duke has reached out to Suffield, CT C Micawber "Mac" Etienne. Big Mac is a 6'10" 220 lb prospect noted for his high motor and shot blocking. Etienne, a top 75 recruiting in the junior class, is being heavily recruited by Dan Hurley at nearby UConn and many other high major schools. It is unclear how serious the interest is between Duke and Etienne. The young man bears more than a glancing resemblance to Joakim Noah if you ask me.

It appears that there is going to be some 2021 recruiting updates or news coming.
Banchero and Chandler both high on Kentucky?
Is Duke all in for both Christie and Keels?
No sources. Just what I have been reading from guys like Evans, Daniels and others.
Just curious too about Kentucky and Banchero and Chandler. Those two have said they could be teaming up together in college and if they did, they would be quite the duo.
The other thing I was asking is if Keels and Christie are A and B or is the plan to add both.
Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up.
Just based on nothing but my own hunch, I doubt much happens for the Class of 2021 over the next couple of months. The coaching staff are focused on the end of the season while the high schoolers are finishing up their own seasons. Then comes the Class of 2020 all star games (McDonald's, Jordan Brand, etc.). And the team usually focuses on finishing up any lingering recruiting battles for the upcoming season in April and May. So I don't think we'll see much about the Class of 2021 until the summer AAU circuit is well underway.
Now it is certainly possible a player like Patrick Baldwin, Jr. or Max Christie makes a surprise visit to campus when Duke hosts UNC. And there have been a few guys - Jalen Johnson, Jeremy Roach, and AJ Griffin come to mind - that have committed out of the blue. So it is always possible that something big affecting the Class of 2021 like a reclass happens. But other than that, I don't think we'll see too much news until May or June.
The 2020 class is all but done except for maybe the reclassification of Jonathan Kuminga from 2021 to 2020. There hasn't been any mention of any other names that have surfaced. With Coleman being the option as the 5 after Williams, it appears the staff is content. Unless someone of the returning guys elects to transfer which is interesting to take a look at too.
Alex, is able to finish his degree over the summer thus he could become a grad transfer. Bot saying this will play out but there have been some whispers out there of this being a possibility.
Joey has not quite developed as expected and he too could pack his bags for another college.
JGold is the only returner I see for sure coking back.
Speculating about Joey and O'Connell is simply that - speculation. There were rumors that Alex was looking to go elsewhere last summer and here he is. I don't care to engage in speculation on recruiting threads or suggest that a player "isn't panning out as planned." Just look at Goldwire and his development. Perhaps we will thank our lucky stars that we have a few upperclassmen on the team this time next year. If there's one thing I know for sure, it is that recruiting is a state of constant change. A guy going pro or not or an unexpected transfer can change things in a hurry. We shall see.
Please stop posting transfer speculations. It’s not fair to the players on the team and, more importantly, against the posting guidelines of the boards.
Yeah, it is increasingly looking like the wild wild west of free transfer is coming. It is fairly likely to be pass this April. It will completely change the landscape of college sports and could really upend team building.

-Jason "I truly fear that the multi-year player at a school is going to become a thing of the past" EvansQuote:
Imagine a disgruntled five-star freshman dissatisfied with his dorm accommodations leaving after a season for a softer bed. Imagine two of the biggest dates on the college football calendar becoming the end of spring practice and end of fall camp. That's when a potential glut of quarterbacks (or wide receivers or running backs or defensive backs) would hit the market after losing position battles.
Basically, imagine the transfer portal times 10.
This would certainly affect the top programs, as some of our bench guys would leave to get more playing time at other schools. But the reverse is true too; top players at smaller schools would have an opportunity to leave and get more exposure at bigger programs. Can you imagine if K had free reign to pluck players off of other schools' rosters? I honestly think this will hurt the smaller schools more than help. Someone made this point a couple years ago when the transfer rule was first behind discussed - yes it hurts Duke to lose their 7th or 8th best player. But it hurts Elon or Wofford even more to lose their BEST player.
With grad transfers, isn't this already the case? Some of the top teams in college basketball this year feature grad transfer that didn't have to sit out before playing their final year at SDSU, Kansas, Kentucky, etc. Duke and Coach K haven't taken advantage of that situation yet and, frankly, I don't see it changing all that much. Most of the top players at a Wofford or Elon are upperclassman that, with minimal planning, already go the grad transfer route.
My guess is that guys like Rodney Hood that were at high major programs or schools where the coach leaves will get the biggest benefit from this rule. When a high major recruit has to cope with the coach getting fired or taking a bigger job, the former McDonald's All-Americans aren't going to have to sit out a year. It will be open season on players from programs going through a coaching change. Those players aren't going to have the sit-out penalty anymore. And frankly, I think that's great news for the players. Why should they have to stay at the school anymore when the guy that recruited them is already out the door?
Credit to Jaks19! There is some 2021 recruiting news tonight. Top forward prospect Patrick Baldwin, Jr. is in attendance for the game tonight against Virginia Tech.
Here's a long write-up of Baldwin from the Chicago Tribune. I was not aware that Baldwin Sr. was an assistant at Northwestern under Chris Collins before he took over at UW Milwaukee. Also of note, Baldwin Jr. is not just good friends with Jalen Johnson, he is also close with Max Christie.
My understanding is that AJ Griffin's dad, Adrian, was also an assistant coach for the Bulls for a number of years, so that while for the past few seasons AJ's been in the New York area, he mostly grew up in Chicago -- thus, I'd imagine he would also know Baldwin and Christie fairly well.
Baldwin did sit with the Crazies last night.
Griffin played for the Bulls for a short time and coached from 2010-2015. As a lifelong Bulls fan, I was extra excited to see his youngest son commit to Duke.
As for his son, he would have been in middle school when he left the Bulls. Chicago is a big city. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Baldwin, Christie, and Griffin have known each other for a long time. But I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Griffin doesn't know the other two as well.
Let's just hope they form a tight bond one day, like brothers.
Baldwin attended the Duke game and the next day also went over to see UNC.
Although many feel that Baldwin will end up at Duke, this is not a done deal.
It would be great to have the Chicago area connection with Griffin, Baldwin and Christie all in a Duke uni
Also, looking at the potential roster for next season, if more than one of Stanley, Moore and Hurt return, one of or more of these 2021 recruits will go else where
Honestly, I have no idea what you are talking about. I would be pleased if two of Stanley, Moore and Hurt did return for the 2020-2021 season. But the 2021 recruits will play in the 2021-2022 season. If you are talking about 2021-2022, I would be ecstatic to have two of them available. Wow! Three seasons at Duke for Stanley, Moore and Hurt.
Perhaps you are talking about the 2020 recruits, who already have signed their letters of commitment, and the 2020-2021 season?
Kindly,
Sage
'If "they" would only move New Year's Day to November 1, we basketball fans wouldn't have to deal with these confusing hyphenated years. Heck, November 1 is already a holy day (Touts-Saints Jour -- All Saints, etc.) like New Year's Day (Feast of the Circumcision)'
My mistake. I did mean 2020.
Yes, the players have signed NLOI's but that doesn't mean that they can't request to get out of it. See Boogie Ellis once Tre came back and Stanley committed. I feel that in this day and age of recruiting and the players (and their family or trusted persons) egos, that players will opt to leave if they don't see a means to achieve what they want. Carter stayed when Bagley committed, but look how vocal his mother has been since and how negatively she became.
For many of these kids, the roster and positional overlapping and/or potential impact on game minutes are criteria for selecting a college program. Agree with it or not.
As long as Carey is gone after this season, we'll have scholarships available for all 6 players who signed LOIs. Buckmire would go back to walk-on status to bring it to 13 total. So, Stanley, Moore and Hurt can ALL return next season and we'd be okay from a scholarship perspective. But your point of positional overlap is true, and who knows what would happen in that case. Our recruiting class is very balanced across positions. The frontcourt seems to be where the need likely will be.
Listen, I am just stating my opinion.
It would be ideal for Hurt to return, to add some more muscle/weight and work on his agility. But as others have mentioned, he has been OAD or wants to be since he was a high level HS recruit.
As a long time coach myself, I don't question how other coaches build their teams or who they recruit. But for me, I'd like to have an upperclassmen come in that can play the 5 and I like to have a 4 star type wing that is athletic, hard working and touch to be added. Neither AOC or Joey defend well and both of their inconsistencies are issues as far as their contributions game in and game out. Granted both bring a lot or talent and ability to score. A player like Stanley would be good even if a 3 star that K could develop.
Also, it would be very interesting to see a roster where Hurt & Moore returned and Kuminga reclassed and committed to Duke because in that situation would K go small with Hurt at the 5, Kuminga and Johnson as the 2 forwards, Moore and the 2 and Roach as the PG... Again, would that team be able to defend in the post?
Prolific recruiting tweeter Jake Weingarten tweeted out a couple of days ago that top SG prospect Trevor Keels will be in attendance for Duke's matchup with UNC as part of an official visit. He will be joined by his high school teammate and Class of 2020 commit Jeremy Roach.
Keels is a high level shot maker and has rising up the recruiting rankings. He's been offered by just about everyone and has interest from several ACC and Big East teams. Keels seems to be favorable towards Duke from what I can tell, but so is Max Christie, another 5-star shooting guard from the Chicago area. It will be interesting to see if Duke could somehow convince both to consider the Blue Devils.
Here's a highlight video of Keels from over the summer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcMgK9cisxc
^ Yeah, anyone know if Keels and Christie are mutually exclusive?
Not sure who I like more, both are very impressive.
I am sure Duke would take both and they could play off one another much like Jon and Gerald did.
Christie is a better ball handler and could be the secondary facilitator whereas, Keels is the better rebounder and gritty defender.
I don't know. Duke could be thin or overloaded on the perimeter/wings heading into 2021.
Jordan Goldwire and Alex O'Connell will be seniors next year.
Joey Baker appears to be on a 4-year college track, so he will be in play as a wing.
I am assuming that Wendell Moore, Jr. will be a sophomore next year but hoping for a big year from him. He could be off to the NBA or could be a 3- or 4-year guy. It's tough to tell with him as he has obvious skills but a few critical limitations right now. If he figures out how to improve on a few things, like the handle and jumper, he could be very good.
Jeremy Roach and DJ Steward are both 5-star recruits and McDonald's All-Americans. I assume every one of those types of players has an eye on being a one-and-done even if the freshman season doesn't pan out that way. It is possible that Steward could go pro after his freshman season.
If Goldwire, AOC, Moore, and Steward all depart after next year, Duke could still have Joey Baker and is bringing in a wing in AJ Griffin as well as being all in on another wing/forward in Patrick Baldwin, Jr. PBJ is good friends with Christie and I could see Christie, Griffin, and Baldwin being a great combo on the floor together. I'm not sure Keels fits into that group unless he is fine being a guy that shares time with Christie or if Duke feels fine with Baldwin at the tallest guy on the court. My guess is that Christie and Baldwin commit this summer or early fall and Keels looks elsewhere. But who knows?
Duke has done this before with overlaps with players that could play the same positions. RJ, Zion and Cam were all small forwards and each had different role and were all on the floor together. Keels at the 3 and Christie at the 2 would be very dynamic. I said it before... like having Jon and Gerald on the floor together
It's not that I don't think Keels and Christie could co-exist on the floor together. It's everyone else Duke is recruiting for the class. I don't see a scenario where Duke gets all 4 of Baldwin, Christie, Griffin (already committed), and Keels. Duke already has one stud wing committed in Griffin and appears to be in great shape with Baldwin and Christie. Unless Keels can or wants to play the point or Baldwin can or wants to be the big man on the floor, I don't see it happening.
Which recruiting prospects will be in attendance tonight ? And more importantly - who will make the trip across the court to sit with the Crazies!
Wow, talk about an emotional roller coaster. My first thought was that, a major recruit with roots in the triangle, he could be the son of King Rice, starting PG for the heels in the late 80s and early 90s. Age is about right.
How could I root for King Rice's son?
Then I thought: stealing a legacy from ol' roy? How delicious. King was a darn good player and is a D1 coach - good bloodlines. Since King would be busy during the season, we'd get mom Summer in the stands - bonus.
Alas, all we'd get with MJ is a great kid with lots of bounce and skills who quickly rising up the charts - with a very unfortunate nickname.
Alan Griffin transferring from Illinois. It has been reported that Duke has reached out to Griffin. It would be nice to have AJ and Alan playing together in 2021.
My friend lives in Chicago and works in Sports Media. He passed along some info on Griffin, not necessarily all about Duke.
- The Griffin family made the decision to have Alan leave to attend a college ON the East Coast closer to home in NY. His mother was a major voice in this.
- The two Griffin brothers would like to play together if possible and if things work out (as I would imagine most siblings would want)
- Alan knows his younger Bro is OAD and he would like the opportunity to enter the NBA at the same time so a sit 1 and play 1 fits that
- The Griffin family ahs the utmost respect for Coach K and "of given the opportunity", Duke "would be" a "legitimate" landing spot for Alan.
Now I know this is just a media guy that only hears things and has not spoken to the family or anything like that but still this is what he passed along that he has gathered.
Thanks for that insight Jaks.
It'll be interesting for sure to see if we offer. Griffin plays the same position as Max Christie and Trevor Keels, both Duke 2021 targets at the 2/3.
Also in the mix and returning would likely be Steward and Baker.
Griffin plays the 2/3 as well.
Just my 2 cents on this is Duke will not get both Keels and Christie. I think the main target is Christie and if Duke does get him then they may cool on Keels. Keels and Griffin are similar in size and skills.
Top 10 Class of 2021 recruit Paolo Banchero is working on a virtual visit with Duke, among other schools, according to an interview with Jake Weingarten. Banchero recently made a little bit of news by receiving an offer from Arizona and adding the dessert Wildcats to the group of now 10 schools he is considering. He also indicates an interest in narrowing down his list of final schools to five in short order.
Banchero made an in-person visit to Duke earlier this school year. I wonder how the seasons of Vernon Carey, Jr. and Isaiah Stewart might affect the decision of Banchero. Both had good seasons, but Washington as a team really underperformed. Carey was named a consensus All-American and Duke was a top team all year. Banchero, as some of you might know, lives in the Seattle area. For a big man, the Blue Devils have done a great job featuring a variety of players and play styles recently between traditional posts like Jahlil Okafor, Carey, and Wendell Carter, Jr. But Duke has also done a great job of featuring more versatile big men like Zion Williamson and Marvin Bagley III.
This is going to be battle for Banchero's services. Duke looks like it is in fight.
For some reason, this seemed pertinent:

what is arizona's status as far the ncaa is concerned? did they skate like the cheats?
Well, either you're closing your eyes
To a situation you do not wish to acknowledge
Or you are not aware of the caliber of disaster indicated
By the presence of the NCAA in your community.
Ya got trouble, my friend, right here,
I say, trouble right here in Desert City.
It is funny how perceptions last a long time but may not fit reality. (This is not a dig at MChambers just about the big man comment.)

Duke is the school that ESPN ranks as having the best interior scorers that go on to the NBA. Of course this ranking may be because Duke has recruited a lot of quality big men.
Great article today from The Athletic on AJ Griffin. There is a LOT to be excited about with him. I am lucky enough to live close by to Stepinac and have seen many of his games. Top 5 draft pick in 2022.
https://theathletic.com/1740404/2020...of-duke-stars/
Also think the Athletic has a 90 day free trial going on right now.
Another new Athletic article today - ranking the top 40 prospects in HS hoops regardless of class. Of notable to Duke:
2. Jonathan Kuminga
5. Patrick Baldwin
8. AJ Griffin (committed, 2021)
9. Paolo Banchero
11. Jalen Johnson (committed, 2020)
28. Max Christie
https://theathletic.com/1737194/2020/04/13/
Both of those were really fun to read. I'm excited to see Griffin and hope we can snag Baldwin, Christie, and Banchero, among others. The Class of 2021 is both talented and deep. Duke has a great shot at reeling in a monster class that can both shoot the lights out and jump out of the gym.
Agreed. Pat Baldwin and AJ Griffin are both top 5 caliber picks in the 2022 draft. Baldwin's ability to shoot at his size is pretty awesome. Griffin is a physical specimen and has a crazy good skillset for 16 years old. Add Max Christie + what we should see return from the 2021 class and that is a very, very good squad.
FWIW, Bates just won the HS Gatorade player of the year award. He is the first sophomore to ever win the award. Allegedly, he is the best HS prospect since Lebron James. Since there could be no ceremony, he was surprised with the honor by tweets from Jason Tatum and Dwyane Wade.
http://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id/...yer-year-award
That assessment (11th overall, but with several of those above him being in future classes) would be far more favorable for our 2020 season than 247's composite ranking for Johnson. If Johnson is one of the top 5 players in his class (as was the case as of last summer), it means we're probably going to be really good. Especially so if we get sophomore Moore and Hurt and at least one of them makes the jump as sophomores.
Looks like Kuminga will cut the list to 5 soon. Put this in the 2021 thread but lot of speculation he will re-class to 2020.

Spoke with five-star junior and arguably the top-rated player in the class Jon Kuminga earlier. He told
@Stockrisers
he will cut down his list to five, doesn’t have any date on when he will release.
Still one of the best mixtapes I've ever seen. The kid peaked in freshman year of high school. Still, it was quite a summit!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If7Hrcf04Dw
It would be quite a shock if Kuminga reclasses at this stage, given the unique situation with classes and standardized testing (no longer being administered in advance of the deadline for reclassing) surrounding covid--although, also given the unique landscape, I suppose anything is possible. Kuminga himself has repeatedly said publicly he will not reclass. This seems the right place to discuss Kuminga's recruitment.
Agreed - Adam Zagoria mentioned this in regards to standardized testing, but said NCAA could create waiver for athletes who wanted to re-classify.
https://twitter.com/Andrew__Slater/s...456762882?s=20
Andrew Slater then hinted at something for 4/17. Maybe we keep an eye out for something on testing (not a commitment), in 2 days.
Just to follow up, it looks like that Paolo Banchero made his virtual visit to Duke:
Jake @jakeweingarten
Kentucky and Arizona will complete virtual visits tomorrow with five-star junior and arguably one of the top-rated players in the junior class, Paolo Banchero, he told @Stockrisers.
Had one with Duke last week.
7:31 PM · Apr 14, 2020
Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers has tweet out this morning that top PG recruit Kennedy Chandler is holding virtual visits with North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Duke.
Chandler is considered one of the best ball handlers in his class. He's quick and can score from all over the court. Chandler and top post prospect Paolo Banchero have also reportedly formed a tight bond. The two have talked about playing together in college.
Here's an interview with Chandler from over the summer with a few highlights of his time at Peach Jam and USA Basketball Trials. Duke has been on him for some time with Nolan Smith taking a lead role.

Have to think Duke's extensive experience with social media can't hurt in the virtual recruiting era.

This might be worthy of it's own off-topic thread, but since the shut down my department has had an AM and PM teleconference to stay informed and keep in touch... Since I'm the joker on our squad, I took it upon myself to bring some levity to the situation and have dressed up in a different costume for 37 meetings to date. So far my Joe Exotic is the leader in the clubhouse.
Kennedy Chandler probably becomes our most important recruit if we assume that AJ Griffin and Patrick Baldwin will be earning $500K in the G-league.
Lack of sports is depressing enough... I dunno if my spirit can even handle being forced to assume AJ jumps to the G-League.
https://thumbs.gfycat.com/QuaintFirs...restricted.gif
Why? AJ's dad and siblings played major college basketball and I'm assuming that after his dad made over $9 million playing in the NBA they don't need AJ's G-League salary to pay the bills. Those nights in the Holiday Inn in Sioux Falls and Fort Wayne are not as glamorous as they sound.
This. Is it a possibility? Absolutely. Should we expect it to happen? Probably not.
The NCAA has one advantage in general in that most of these kids grew up watching the NCAA tournament. Most still want that "one shining moment." Now, it is absolutely true that their real dream is NBA stardom and NBA money. And for some, the opportunity at $100+K (I doubt most of these guys are going to be getting the $500K that Green will be getting) is going to be enough to forego their "one shining moment" chances. But for guys like Griffin, whose parents are quite well off, that risk is probably lower. It's one of the advantages of building that market with former NBA-ers' kids.
For the kid whose family is flat broke and a six-figure salary is somewhat life-changing? Yeah, that's going to be a tough sell. But for the families that made millions in the NBA, I think there's a strong chance we see them for a year. I'm not ready to jump ship on that based on the decisions of one or two prospects this year.
We'll very likely have a recruit go this route at some point. But I don't know that there's strong evidence to suggest any particular recruit will do it. At least not until I see more guys going that route.
$500K sounds like a lot, but how much money do you think Zion has made from his exposure playing at Duke? Granted Zion is a freak of nature, but.......
And besides, some guys might like to have the college experience. They'll be working soon enough.
As CDu said better than I did, the calculus is different for everyone. If you come from a well-off family that isn't desperate for the money and might actually enjoy going to school for a year surrounded by peers, college is a pretty good option. Especially compared to being an 18 year old kid traveling the country to low-middle grade hotels competing daily with players making 20% of your salary who see posterizing you as their ticket to the show. If the G-League salary is life changing money for you and your family and/or you really don't have a lot of interest in being in college, the equation is a lot different.
Griffin comes from a wealthy family, his dad can tell him all about the grind of being a pro, and he goes to an academically minded HS. According to Google his dad is pursuing a PhD so school is likely important to his family.
So for Griffin, I think (and it seems many others agree with me) that there is a strong possibility that Griffin will not do this. For others, it makes a ton of sense.
You’re also missing that Adrian Griffin is - and has been - an NBA assistant coach for a decade and is currently the head assistant coach for the Raptors. According to the google, assistant coaches make between $100,000 to $1,000,000. Yes - the variance is high. But I assume ten years into the job and Griffin is making a lot more than $100,000.
I do not think for a second AJ will leave college for the G-League due to money. But can I see him leaving for development purposes? Yes I can.
Do I think he will? Nope, cus everyone will be saying ‘Coach K is a legend. And his coaching years are very limited.’
I think a lot of players are going to take a wait-and-see approach. LaMelo Ball and RJ Hampton both went to the NBL in New Zealand this past year, but that didn't lead to an exodus of guys going to New Zealand in the Class of 2020. Additional reporting shows that the G-League has reached out to a lot of the top players in the Class of 2020. Most have rebuffed the offer. This includes Evan Mobley, a top 3 player in the class.
Isaiah Todd is another 5-star recruit in the Class of 2020 that is going to the G-League Select team. There have been a lot of questions about Todd's work ethic, strength, and overall game. Green may well become a top draft pick in '21. But if Todd falters, that's something a borderline pro prospect will have to consider. Heck, Jalen Green fall if he doesn't show the type of fundamentals and overall skill package that many expect him to have. This is a risky move. What happens if Green falters? Does he stay on the G-League Select team until he feels like he'll get a top 5 draft pick in '22 or '23? In college, you can return. Matthew Hurt and Wendell Moore have another 3 years of eligibility at Duke. I doubt the G-League is going to offer that kind of longevity.
Let's all keep in mind that Kevin Garnett went straight to the NBA but hardly anyone (this fellow named Kobe, notwithstanding) followed the next year. It takes a while for successive classes to follow the trailblazers.
I agree that the calculation is different for everyone, and I agree that AJ Griffin seems like he could be more likely than most to still end up in college. But what about Patrick Baldwin and the rest? I have to think at this point that >50% of prospects offered this opportunity will jump at the chance.
A couple more points:
(1) Adrian Griffin Sr is wealthy. AJ Griffin Jr is not.
(2) There will still be plenty of kids from families who are not desperate (say, middle class and above) who will choose to sign for $500K and NBA training.
I think you are overstating things a bit. A college education is still worth quite a bit. Heck, a Duke education on it's own is a $250,000+ affair these days. Throw in the coaching, the facilities, the shoes, the stipend, and we're getting well above the $500,000 mark. Granted, that's half a million in one year, more than I'll earn anytime soon. A 1st round contract in the NBA is worth several times more than that, though. A team that can show a player that they can improve their draft stock, that team is going to have a good offer to a young prospect. Show the player how each game your team plays gets millions of viewers. Show the player how many of your alumni are in the NBA and what they have earned.
At the end of the day, this G-League proposal is a one-shot bet. There's no second or third year if things don't work in your favor. It's a show-me contract. You get one year, kid. If it works, it'll be an extra half million that you probably spent anyway on an apartment, maybe a car, who knows what. But that's nothing in comparison to the millions you'll get in the lottery. We're not going to talk about how much you'll earn in Year 2 if the first year doesn't pan out. We'll be on to the next big thing that year. There's this kid Kuminga that's really good. He's going to be the next big thing. You can play in the real G-League with all those former college stars that didn't make it straight to the NBA. They're all 4-7 years older and know what they need to do. And your pay was cut by 90%. Good luck out there, kid.
Yeah, I think the college coaches already know the pitch.
I agree that the one year of college from an academic perspective is worth very little in prospect's minds, but the one year of top notch coaching, facilities, travel and exposure for future marketing purposes certainly holds a fair amount of value...and yeah, Duke being elite academically is really not a consideration to the vast majority although can pay dividends down the road with the connections made from being a part of the brotherhood.
But I certainly agree that these guys don't value a Duke degree (or anywhere else) at the "sticker price" of admission from an academic value perspective. And I don't begrudge them for that either -- it makes sense. Basketball is what's going to earn the very elite prospects the big bucks, not biology.
I'm not sure why I am even bothering to respond to this because at this point you are being ridiculously argumentative and pedantic. But there are plenty of kids who come from nothing who use their first contract to bring their family out of poverty. They aren't making the money for themselves. They are making it for their parents who sacrificed to pay the rent and put food on the table and to help siblings. AJ Griffin clearly does not have to do that. You chose him and Baldwin as examples and would not back down.
I know a lot less about Baldwin than Griffin but given that Baldwin's dad is a D1 head coach who played at Northwestern, I'm guessing that he is likely similar to Griffin. He likely is not at quite the same wealth level as Griffin's family but they are pretty rich by most standards. And I'd like to think that the fact that his dad is a Northwestern alum and also coached there means that education is important.
All that being said, yes, there are plenty of kids for whom this is the right move, as is being demonstrated right now. $500k is a lot of money for many people and there are also plenty of kids who just aren't that excited about college.
I think I'm done with this conversation.
Luol Deng certainly did. He has a 100 Million plus real estate empire . He took advantage of the Economic Opportunity Zone act that Senator Tim Scott of SC sponsored. He met a class member and befriended Jamie Dimon's daughter the CEO of JP Morgan Chase. Apparently he requested guidance from the USA's most respected banker.
A series of posts that had nothing to do with 2021 recruiting but instead were talking about the NBA's new GL500K (G-League $500,000) high-school to pro route haev been moved to the thread dealing with that subject.
Kennedy Chandler, whom Duke is recruiting, got reached out to by the G League. May or may not have an impact on our pursuit of him.

On Thursday, Duke will host five-star junior Kennedy Chandler for his virtual meeting with the staff, he told @Stockrisers. Held ones with Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina as well.

Memphis Commercial Appeal: What Briarcrest 5-star Kennedy Chandler said about getting recruited by the G League (free, but behind ad wall)
Quote:
He said his plan is to attend college but that he has discussed playing in the G League with his parents.
"I really don’t know right now," Chandler said. "So I’m going to keep on doing what I’m doing and talk to college coaches and see where I want to go for college."
I like the new G League concept. It's the same as baseball has been doing for many decades.
The college basketball coaches are going to hate it. They'll have to recruit a kid and then re-recruit him away from the G League.
College baseball coaches do it every summer when recruits are drafted by MLB...
but if it's only going to be a a handful of kids accepted into the G League program, the impact across college basketball is virtually non existent. It would apply mainly to the blue bloods like Duke who recruit the very highly ranked HS players. Nothing would change for programs who recruit kids outside the 5 star level which is like 99% of the college basketball programs.
When Baldwin, Griffin or Christie start talking about exploring the G league option, I will get concerned. While Kennedy is a good player, those three are the core of the class.
Corey Evans of Rivals posted a Q&A with top SG prospect Max Christie. Christie goes on to say that he wants to commit before his high school basketball season begins in November. During the interview, he talks about some of his main suitors, including Michigan State, Northwestern (his mother is an alma mater), Ohio State, Villanova, Virginia, and Duke. Here is what Christie had to say about Duke and the potential of playing with his friend Patrick Baldwin, Jr.
Duke is seen as a heavy favorite for Christie but the full interview shows that the young man is considering his decision carefully. He notes that academics are important to him. He doesn't see the G-League option as ideal for him and that, no matter where he goes, wants to get a degree at some point. He also wants to be part of a family. Perhaps the family environment he prefers is the Brotherhood.Quote:
CE: Another is Duke; how often are they in contact with you?
MC: Duke is in contact with me. Coach K and with his recruiting style, he doesn’t talk to his recruits as much. He has a lot going on and is arguably the greatest coach of all time in college basketball. Coach K has been really busy and Duke has contacted me every now and again but I just think their recruiting style is a little different but Duke has stayed in contact but not as much as the others.
CE: It seems that a lot of the schools on your list are similar ones on Pat Baldwin’s list? Have you two spoken about playing together at all in college?
MC: Yeah, not recently, but we have known each other for a long time. I have known Pat since we were in sixth grade and obviously, we have had some talks here and there, but it hasn’t been anything necessarily huge. I think that it is kind of accidental actually that we have both the same type of schools on our list but yeah, Pat is someone that I am close with and talk to every now and again.
That answer did not seem to paint us a 'heavy favorite.' If anything seems like we are only somewhat engaged, and not at the highest levels of the organization. Am I missing something?
Wonder if Duke is a heavy favorite b/c a) there's no clear favorite, so Duke becomes somewhat of a default given our track record, or b) the kid/family has expressed a love of Duke previously. (A feels more likely than B, but I'm not close to Max's recruitment...or anyone else's)
Yes, you are missing something. Duke is fully engaged with Max and vice versa. I'm perplexed as to how wanting to join a program that's like a family and ultimately wanting to get a degree suggests otherwise. Whether Duke is the favorite or he's a heavy lean at this point is all just someone speculating/talking out of their butt.
Perhaps the comment that Duke isn’t contacting him as often as other schools might be interpreted as us not being the favorite, but I see it the other way around. We don’t need to be in constant contact every day, I think Duke is a fairly known commodity and it’s the other schools who are having to catch up to us.
Reading a Q&A, you don't get the nonverbal parts of speech. How did Christie say the line above? Did he emphasize that "Duke is different" as in, that program stands out from the others? Did he say that in a way that makes him feel like Duke is aloof? It's hard to tell. We're reading into a lot of things a 17 year old is saying. It's a tough business.Quote:
I just think their recruiting style is a little different but Duke has stayed in contact but not as much as the others.
Christie seems like a smart kid with a lot of talent. There's a lot of smoke out there that suggests that Duke is very interested and the feelings are mutual. Is it all smoke? I don't know.
Dwyane Wade's eldest son, Zaire had an interesting year at Sierra Canyon. It ended with the younger Wade essentially walking away from the star-studded team. Now Wade, a PG prospect, is going to take a postgrad year at New Hampshire's Brewster Academy.
I haven't seen anything that suggests Duke is involved. I hope we do get involved given the connection between Coach K and Dwyane Wade. It would be great to see Wade and his family at Cameron Indoor Stadium. And Duke will need a backup PG after Jordan Goldwire departs. Just a thought...
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EWJHoPfX...jpg&name=small
Look I have no idea whether Duke is fully engaged or not. I have no idea what Duke is doing on the recruiting trail other than what I read, same as most ordinary folk.
But if I'm missing something (which is more than likely), you didn't point it out. "Wanting to join a family program" and "wanting a degree" have nothing to do with Duke's engagement. I'm perplexed that you read it that way. You could very easily interpret that to mean that Max really likes what Duke offers, etc. but I don't see how that has anything to do with Duke's engagement with Max.
On the other hand, this quote offers insight into Duke's engagement, at least from Max's perspective:What about "Duke contacts me every now and again" and "[Duke doesn't contact me] as much as the others" sounds like Duke is "Fully Engaged"?Quote:
"Coach K has been really busy and Duke has contacted me every now and again but I just think their recruiting style is a little different but Duke has stayed in contact but not as much as the others.
I agree with everything DBA said on context for the article, or maybe this has to do with our style, etc. So if there is other info out there (and I'm sure there is), I'm all for hearing it. To me, the contrast between the above quote and Duke being a heavy favorite just seemed odd.
Ya lost me, but I may try and fish this weekend.

Top 2021 big man Paolo Banchero previously announced a final 9 schools in September 2019. That list included Baylor, Duke, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Kentucky, Memphis, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington. The last of that list is based in his hometown Seattle. Banchero announced this morning that his Top 6 schools will be announced shortly, and that he'll decide from that smaller group. Expect to see Duke in that list.
If I had to guess, we'll probably see Duke, Gonzaga, Kentucky, Memphis, and Washington among his top 6. I'm not sure what the 6th school will be. And I could certainly be wrong about one or more of those 5. It's just a guess on my part to be perfectly honest.
Banchero has long been connected to top PG recruit Kennedy Chandler. The latter recently had a virtual visit with the Duke staff. The two talk often and have said they want to play together in college.
Here's a not-too-short video featuring the young big man from early March 2020. I enjoy the way he sees himself as a multi-dimensional player. He's drawn comparisons to Carlos Boozer in terms of size and role on the floor as a hard-working interior scorer with range on his jumper. He seems a little more mobile and possibly higher skilled than Boozer was without the same amount of strength. Who was stronger than Boozer, after all? Banchero is one to watch.

Interview with Baldwin.

ESPN has updated its rankings for the Class of 2021. Here are the top 10 and other Duke targets:
1. Jonathan Kuminga 6'7" SF, Elizabeth, NJ
2. Chet Holmgren, 7'0" C, Minneapolis, MN
3. Patrick Baldwin, Jr., 6'9" PF, Sussex, WI
4. Paolo Banchero, 6'8" PF, Seattle, WA
5. Jaden Hardy, 6'4" SG, Henderson, NV
6. Jabari Smith, 6'8" PF, Tyrone, GA
7. Michael Foster, 6'8" PF, Milwaukee, WI
8. Moussa Cisse, 6'11" C, Memphis, TN
9. Moussa Diabate, 6'10" PF, Bradenton, FL
10. Nate Bittle, 6'11" C, Central Point, OR
11. AJ Griffin, 6'6" SF, White Plains, NY - Committed to Duke
14. Kennedy Chandler, 5'11" PG, Memphis, TN
15. Max Christie, 6'4" SG, Rolling Meadows, IL
17. Trevor Keels, 6'4" SG, Fairfax, VA
30. Charles Bediako, 6'10" C, Brampton, ON, Canada
I don't recall where AJ Griffin was before this. He's been a consensus top 10 player in the class as far back as I can remember. The 247Sports Composite has Griffin at #7 overall and #6 on the 247Sports only rankings. Some of the heights listed by ESPN seem out of date to me as well. I've seen Banchero listed at either 6'9" or 6'10" while Max Christie is listed at 6'6' elsewhere. At any rate, Duke is heavily after 2 of the top 4 players in the class and 6 of the top 17. As it stands now, I think they get 5 of the top 15 players in the class. It would be a very good class in terms of skills and overall talent.
David, do you think the 5 will be Griffin, Baldwin, Banchero, Chandler, and either Christie or Keels?
It seems to me the coaching staff has settled on Chandler, Griffin, Baldwin, and Banchero. They have offers out to both Christie and Keels. Christie knows and is friends with Baldwin and Griffin. The latter grew up in the Chicago area while his dad, Adrian Sr. played for and later became an assistant with the Chicago Bulls. Both Baldwin and Christie have mothers that played for Northwestern. I think the three compliment each other incredibly well and the coaching staff saw the connection early on. Of course, Christie hasn't visited and it seems like the Duke coaching staff hasn't been on him to the degree that they have been on Baldwin. To me, I think the strategy is to get Baldwin to commit and then ramp up interest and attention with Christie.
Keels is an interesting player. Like Christie, he's a sniper from deep and a heck of player in his own right. He's close with Jeremy Roach as the two were high school teammates. Keels has visited Duke and has an offer. I don't want to say he's a backup option, but it seems like he has opened the eyes of the staff. My personal take is that they plan is to get Baldwin to commit soon if they can and then get Christie. If that happens and Keels is still listening, we'll see what happens. I could see a situation in which DJ Steward outplays his ranking and has a Cassius Stanley-esque season ending in the NBA Draft. If that happens, Duke could make an appealing destination for both Christie and Keels. I'm not sure either will be available by the end of the college season. That's the bind.
Banchero names Top 6.
https://247sports.com/college/basket...ton-146624626/
This is why I shouldn't make guesses, right?
Banchero's top 6 includes Arizona, Duke, Kentucky, Gonzaga, Tennessee, and Washington. I was off about Memphis. He dropped Baylor, Georgetown, Memphis, and North Carolina while adding in Arizona.
Here's what Banchero had to say about Duke in an interview with Evan Daniels:
Banchero goes on to say that he does not plan on committing until the spring of 2021, after his high school career is over. Duke appears to be in it for the long hall.Quote:
Duke: “Coach [Jon] Scheyer, Coach K obviously and the rest of the staff. They’re all legendary. Their biggest thing that I look at is if you look at all of their best players over the years, especially freshman, they put the ball in their best players hands which is usually freshman. They have done that every year, I think it’s the third straight year with Vernon Carey that they have had the Freshman of the Year. I think it’s three straight. Their pitch is that I will go there and they will let me play and play through my mistakes. I’m going to have the ball in my hands and try to win a national championship and be able to be a part of the brotherhood which is bigger than basketball.”

Kennedy Chandler's top 5: Duke, North Carolina, Memphis, Tennessee, Kentucky.
Duke, Kentucky, Memphis, North Carolina, and Tennessee
That was about as expected. Banchero and Kennedy, if they really want to play together, have Duke, Kentucky, and Tennessee in common. By all accounts, Duke appears to be in a good position here. I think a lot of this will have to do with Jeremy Roach. It's not clear to me that these two are mutually exclusive. After all, some of Duke's best teams have had two PGs. But that's how it is these days.
Vanilla ice cream has been making the rounds as a complementary player for a while now. Most say it hasn't been a "go to" desert for years. Still, in the right situation, it go into "a la mode."
"Recruiting thread"? Any way the thread can get back on the true theme, so one doesn't waste time on these insipid posts?
Objections. I strongly disagree with mattman's choices for his top 3 desserts. Why? It's clearly because chocolate is not included in any of them;). They should be:
1. German Chocolate Cake
2. Black Forest Cake
3. Chocolate chocolate chip ice cream with fudge swirls (additional chocolate or fudge sauce optional)
And, don't get me started on breakfast stouts, OPK's old comment about obese patrons at Waffle Houses not withstanding.
It is nice to see the updated lists for those recruits most recently mentioned. We appear to be in pretty good shape, particularly if any special "packaging" is in order.
A Kentucky site posted a recruiting rundown from a Wildcat perspective on Friday featuring Rivals recruiting expert Corey Evans. Evans touched on many topics and top targets for the Class of 2021, including Paolo Banchero, Kennedy Chandler, and Patrick Badlwin, Jr. Evans believes that, as of now, UK appears to be in good shape for both Banchero and Chandler, along with Tennessee. Duke is mentioned. I've seen others indicate Duke as being in a good position for both. The last target covered was Patrick Baldwin, Jr. Here's what was said about the Wisconsin sharpshooter:
Quote:
RECRUITING PATRICK BALDWIN JR.
Rivals.com also posted a lengthy and informative Q&A with Kentucky target Patrick Baldwin Jr. this week, and the smooth-shooting 6-9 perimeter forward from Milwaukee had positive things to say about Calipari and the Wildcats’ program.
Baldwin is the No. 3 player in the Rivals.com rankings and already has a UK scholarship offer. He’s also a priority recruit for Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski, and Baldwin’s father is Pat Baldwin, the head coach at the University of Milwaukee.
“Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if he says he’s going to stay home and go to Milwaukee,” Evans told the Herald-Leader. “And as you get to kind of know the kid, you’re like, ‘That kind of makes sense.’ Look at how many times in the Q&A that he brings up family — that’s important to him. And you have his father, they kind of go everywhere together and they’re very, very close.
“And I think Pat Baldwin is so good and his game translates so well, I don’t think it really matters where he goes, honestly. You want to be challenged, and I do think Duke has a very good chance as well. He’s that Duke kind of kid, right?”
Evans noted that Baldwin’s father was previously an assistant at Northwestern under Coach Chris Collins — a former Duke player and longtime Coach K assistant — and Baldwin’s friend and travel league teammate, Jalen Johnson, is the top recruit in Duke’s 2020 class.
Calipari will still be recruiting Baldwin, however, and former UK player Tyler Herro, who’s also from Milwaukee, has ties to Baldwin’s travel league team.
“You can’t discount Kentucky, either, Evans said. “He saw a guy from his new hometown go there and succeed, and Cal recognizes the need for a guy that can make shots. And I think that’s why they’ve made him a priority.”
UK likely has some ground to make up, though.
“As of right now, I think it’s Duke and Milwaukee, honestly,” Evans said. “And then everyone else.”

If you haven’t seen this you might enjoy see the returning guys chatting with Nolan about last year, the coming year, what they are doing now and what they want to do better...
Joey is very talkative and seems like he will be an obvious leader for me. JGold too. Matt H is really quiet. At one point Nolan compliments him saying that when he first came to Duke he used to speak about ten words and now he is speaking one hundred....
Are there folks around here who do not know the tale of Ndudi Ebi?
He was down to Duke, Arizona, and Texas. He was from Houston and he asked Coach K to come visit him (many speculated that Ebi said he would commit, but wanted to do it in person to K himself). So K got on a plane to Houston but while K's plane was still in the air, Ebi called a press conference and announced for Arizona. K's plane literally landed in Houston and immediately took off again to come back to Durham.
Of course, Ebi pulled a fast one on Arizona too by declaring for the NBA draft straight out of high school and never playing a second of college ball. This was 2003, before OAD was a thing. Ndudi lasted 2 seasons at the very end of the TWolves bench before being cut. He spent the next 15 years playing in various leagues all over the world. Never been happier to see a player fail to reach his potential and flame out more than Ndudi Ebi.
The NCAA had a short-lived rule that limited schools to a maximum of eight recruits over two consecutive years. Duke has brought in a six-player class the year before and thus only recruited three players, Luol Deng, Kris Humphries and Ebi the following year. The trio combined to play two years of college ball. After losing Ebi and Humphries to some peculiar circumstances, K declined the opportunity to fill out the class with a four-year player. Hence four years down the road Duke went into the 2007 season without a single recruited senior. Even in the OAD era Duke has always had at least one recruited senior.
Foyle was in the high school class of 1994, Ebi in the class of 2003. So, they weren't all that close. Foyle would have been in the same class as Trajan Langdon, Ricky Price and Wojo, so there would have been room for a post.
I was not surprised when I saw your picture next to the definition! :Dhttp://www.crazietalk.net/ourhouse/i...es/devil9f.gif
The rule was well-meaning (unless, of course, you were one of the top two or three teams). In 2002, then-current Georgia Tech player Michael Eisenhour died of cancer. A few months later, Bobby Cremins stood up at a coach's meeting to say: "I had a player die of cancer and, under the rules, I am not allowed to replace him. What's that about?" Probably not a coincidence that the rule soon disappeared.
Was trying to decide whether to put this in this thread or the 2020 one... for now I guess it stays here.
Jonathan Kuminga says he is 50-50 on reclassifying into the 2020 class. This would be big news, obviously. He is supposedly going to name a top five soon. We should be in there but I don’t think anyone has a strong sense where this kid is going.
https://247sports.com/college/duke/A...020-146818743/
My expectation with Kuminga is that he is not going to play college basketball. It is clear that he wants to go pro as soon as possible. That could mean the G-League or a year at a prep school. If he does play college ball, he'll probably be in the SEC (Auburn, LSU, and Kentucky have all been in the mix for him to various degrees). There is a very slim chance he plays at Duke. I'd be happy to be wrong about this as he appears to be a tremendous talent. But I don't see it happening.
Top 10 F prospect Patrick Baldwin, Jr. announced via his twitter account last night that he will be releasing a Top 10 schools list soon. I would have expected a top 5 or even top 3 from the young man, so maybe that is a sign that he is not as close to committing as previously thought. At any rate, we should expect to see Duke, other frequent guests of such lists like Kentucky and Michigan State, as well as schools in his home state like Marquette and Wisconsin. He'll almost certainly include his father's school, UW-Milwaukee, as well as his mother's alma mater, Northwestern. I have not idea who else will fill out the Top 10 but have heard that Duke is in a good position. Baldwin previously visited Duke in February for an unofficial visit.
If Baldwin’s father does become the coach at Northwestern, and his son follows him there, it would not be a first for Northwestern. In 1959 Claire Riessen became the tennis coach at Northwestern after winning 5 Illinois state championships at Hinsdale High School. His son Marty was the state champion for 4 years(1956-59) at Hinsdale and then played for his Dad at Northwestern. Marty won 3 Big Ten championships and was also an outstanding player on Northwestern’s basketball team. He went on to play on many US Davis Cup teams primarily as a doubles player. Marty won 7 Grand Slam titles in doubles and was ranked as high as number 8 in the world in singles. Mr. Riessen coached at Northwestern until 1975.
After making the tournament four years ago, Northwestern has disappointed for three straight years. They were a very young team last year, so it's possible that there will be significant improvement this year (if there is a season), but otherwise you really need to wonder if they will stick with Collins. I hate to say that, because I thought he did a really good job when he first got there. (My daughter went to Northwestern and graduated two years ago, so I followed the basketball team fairly closely.)
Collins has had terrible luck with his team. After the initial success and reaching the NCAA Tournament, Northwestern spent the following year playing at All State Arena out in Rosemont, Illinois, right next to O'Hare. That arena was the home of the DePaul Blue Demons until recently. It is big, cavernous, and great for concerts. It's not a good venue for a team that struggled to fill up the tiny Walsh-Ryan Arena on Northwestern's campus. It was like they played the whole year as the road team. Things fell apart for NU when they had one of the biggest collapses in recent B1G memory. Northwestern was up 49-27 at the half against Michigan State. This was the MSU team featuring Miles Bridges and Jaren Jackson, Jr. Northwestern then scored 11 second half points and lost 65-60. The Wildcats didn't win a game the rest of the year.
The next year, the team was without a point guard. Vic Law, a very talented forward that played 5 games with Orlando Magic this past year and has been a good G-League prospect, was just about the only playmaker they had. The team this past season was incredibly young with 3 freshman and 2 sophomores among the top 6 players. Given that Northwestern has almost no track record of success, the administration has given Collins a lot of slack. He did get the team into the AP Top 25 and has an NCAA Tournament appearance. The team should be better this next season. Freshman PG Boo Buie is promising. They have a couple of promising young forwards in Peter Nance and Robbie Beran. The team should be better next year. This might be a make or break year for him. He has to show that he can recruit and develop players. He did that with Vic Law. Some health and good luck is long overdue for him but he needs to produce.
Baldwin released his Top 10. Duke made the cut, which was not a surprise. I was mildly intrigued to see that Marquette wasn't listed. I suppose if he is going to stay home in Milwaukee, it will be to play for his dad's team. He also listed Northwestern. The others include a mix of Blue Blood and high profile schools, including Georgetown, Kentucky, Michigan, UCLA, UNC, UVA, and Wisconsin.
It appears that the Duke coaching staff is hot on the trail (metaphorically) of Trevor Keels, a highly rated SG from Paul VI in Fairfax, VA.
Jake Weingarten tweets that the full staff will be virtually visiting with Keels tomorrow (5/12).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vhCQZacpeA
Jake Weingarten is reporting that 4-star C prospect Charles Bediako will be virtually meeting with the Duke coaching staff today.
This is an interesting development as it seemed that Bediako had cooled on the Blue Devils or vice versa. Bediako has received a scholarship offer for the Class of 2021. There was talk for a time that Duke wanted Bediako to reclassify to the Class of 2020 but that has not happened. It sounds like the coaching staff is still in contact with the big man from Canada.
Top SG prospect Max Christie is the latest to join Jason Jordan's group of high school basketball prospects that blog for SI. In his first blog post, Christie provides an update on his life and recruitment. He lists Duke among others that are communicating with him the most. He's a bit of a different type of prospect. He writes that he won't be releasing a Top 10 or Top 5 list. When he feels ready, he's going to commit. Right now, he continues to train at home with his father. The loss of travel and opportunities to visit campuses leaves him wondering if he'll take longer to commit than under normal circumstances. He's certainly one to keep an eye on.
Christie is a tall and thin SG prospect, listed at 6'5" or 6'6". He is a confident and accurate shooter. People talk about how thin he is. I don't see that as a concern. Plenty of elite basketball players have struggled to put on weight. Reggie Miller anyone? Miller played his career in the NBA during a hard-nosed era at 6'7" and 185 lbs and was a consistent presence on the court. Some guys are just wiry.
Here are some highlights from Christie's junior year. While the competition looks inferior, I really enjoy watching Christie initiate offense and take the ball up court with his head on a swivel. He's clearly comfortable with the ball in his hands. He also average 12 rebounds a game and 2 blocks.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulQxF6it02o
Christie or Keels? With both offered, I suppose the first to commit gets the spot. Curious which one y'all prefer.
