Kentucky was not a better team than Duke was this past year and it's debatable that MSU was, in spite of their impressive wins. Michigan didn't care to show up the last game of the season after clinching the B1G record. Then MSU fell flat on its face in the postseason. It's a matter of debate about the best player on Kentucky this last year, let alone the second best (I would go Jackson and then Boston). For MSU, Aaron Henry was clearly the best player, but it's hard to say who was next best. It was probably Gabe Brown. Again, matter of debate.
