Yep, he salvaged himself. The first two batters he faced were probably wishing for extra padding.

Crazy end to the inning, Duke was so close to the score before getting tagged out at home.

Duke has runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs in T9. Still 3-3.

Just bizarre pitching choices by Pollard, keeping an obviously burnt reliever in for multiple batters too late and then bringing in a guy who pitched two innings yesterday.

This is a bad one to lose.

Final: Coastal Carolina 8, Duke 7

Not a good omen for the year when your pen can't hold a 4 run lead in the 9th. in your second game.

I mean Pollard only went 3 pitchers into the pen! I know it's a double header and I imagine they expect to use a lot of relievers in game 3, but still, gotta be more willing to trust more guys when one guy clearly doesn't have it.

Still the 1st inning, 4 runs by Coastal already, and two on base.
Bull pen already activated. It appears that Duke has some pitching problems.
