Because of media time-outs, it’s arguably more accurate to say that men play four-minute deciles.
Vive la difference.

shrug. I prefer it. 2x the period-end is twice as many rushed crappy possessions (and trust me, I saw god knows enough of that from uconn the past 2 days...), and twice as much complaining about how much time is left on the clock. I also like that teams that can't shoot FTs are further penalized by the 1&1.
And likely why the men will continue with two halves instead of four quarters (at least for a while). The men get nine time out breaks (including the long half) whereas the women have seven. One reason the women’s games almost never take more than two hours barring overtime.
Duke hoping to rebound--no pun intended--from lackluster effort against App State with game against Troy.
Duke starting Williams, Balogun, Gordon, Taylor and DeJesus.
Troy off to 7-3 lead. But at least Duke isn't turning it over.
Ugly start. 7-5 Troy, after a bunch of awful offensive possessions (and two missed Balogun FTs).
Day-Wilson triple gives Duke first lead at 12-10.
Another Day-Wilson 3-pointer puts Duke up 15-10 at first media timeout.
Two threes for Day Wilson, the second after an oboard. Keeping troy off the boards is gonna be crazy frustrating at this rate.
Jim, do you know why Lewis is not dressed out to play?
Troy is being very aggressive on defense, especially under the basket, reaching/grabbing for everything.
Amaya Finklea first non-usual member of the rotation to come in.
22-16 after one. Day-Wilson with 8.
Up 6 end 1. Lee Volker also came in at the of that quarter, suggesting Kara isn't that concerned about losing this one. (No Miela Goodchild yet, speaking of players who have lost the coach's confidence)
Goodchild starting Q2
Goodchild pulled after 3 ineffective minutes including a missed layup underneath. Starters back in except for de Jesus.
