Completely, utterly unlike Nassau or any cruise ship/Spring Break destination in the Caribbean. Partly because there's no airport, so you have to fly to Eleuthera and then take a (5 minute) boat ride across to the island, so it's not easy to get to. [Aside - this is why OPK's advice against the Bahamas as a general matter is an overly broad generalization - the Out Islands are not at all like Nassau or Freeport, which are more like the Mexican coast]. There are few cars, everyone's driving around in golf carts, and it looks like some Caribbean version of Nantucket, with brightly colored little houses in town. The dining was as good as anywhere I've been outside of Italy, France and the big foodie centers in the U.S. (truly; although the best spots are through the roof expensive). Resorts are beautiful, small in scale, intimate and romantic - this is a 20th anniversary, right? Plenty of good snorkeling on either the bay side or the ocean side. Occasional celebrity sightings, if you care. And the pink sand beach stretches the entirety of the East side of the island and is gorgeous.
