"Former Duke quarterback D. Bryant has been named to the 2008 Arena Football League All-Rookie squad released this week by the league office.

Bryant, who plays for the Kansas City Brigade, completed 215-of-336 (.640) pass attempts for 2,340 yards with 40 touchdowns and 10 interceptions on the year. In addition, he rushed 42 times for an additional 149 yards and 12 touchdowns. Bryant ranked tied for sixth in the league in rushing touchdowns and eighth in the league in rushing yards as Kansas City posted a 3-13 overall record.

A native of Detroit, Mich., Bryant lettered on the gridiron at Duke from 2000-01. On Duke's career passing charts, he ranks seventh in attempts (642), eighth in completions (316), eighth in yards (3,902) and 10th in touchdowns (16). Bryant's top season came in 2001 when he hit on 187-of-384 (.487) passes for 2,454 yards and 11 touchdowns. He owns the 11th-highest single-game passing total in school history with a 400-yard effort versus N.C. State in 2001 and holds the Duke record for consecutive completions in a game with 16, also versus N.C. State in 2001."
