I finally got around to applying for an alumni email forwarding address - how long does it take to get that approved?

For those who don't know, you can apply for a lifetime email address here (http://www.dukealumni.com/?__id=d:10036878.100.14).

Mine was done in a couple of days, I think, but that was while I was still at Duke.

I just did this as well, it took about 24-48 hours

Seems like a neat idea, right? But beware, it's a magnet for spam.

Use Thunderbird or something as good and you might have a fighting chance.

A couple days? I hope mine didn't get lost. I filed Duke and UVa over the weekend, got UVa yesterday, nothing yet from Duke.

Sometimes it takes a bit longer. I would wait a week before you call to check up on it.

Really. I've been using it for nine years. I don't think I have ever gotten any spam addressed to my alumni email. I had it forwarded to hotmail for five/six years then switched to gmail. I only use it for correspondence with friends and family. I never use it when registering at websites or posting on the net.
