They go two full 3 minute overtime periods. If still tied the next period is sudden death....first goal wins.

Hang in there ladies.

I believe they earn a goodly 83 Director's Cup points for reaching the Final Four. I really feel for the seniors on this team that reached their 4th consecutive Final Four without winning it all. What a special group......

Kerstin Kimel has done a fabulous job with this program and these young women as players and as people. And they will be the biggest supporters of the MLax team as they play in Boston tomorrow.

I hope the new AD can get someone who can FINALLY get the women's lax team over the hump! Four straight Final Fours and ZERO Championships!!!
2008: A double OT loss to Penn (after blowing a 7-4 lead).
2007: The BIGGEST choke job in NCAA history - blowing a 13-4 lead w/ 20 mins left and allowing Virginia to go on a 10-0 run to close the game.
2006: Overtime loss to Northwestern.

I can't understand why this team can't produce in crunch time. I think it's totally Kerstin Kimel! I hope the new AD can fix this problem ASAP!

I completely agree. There's no place at Duke for a coach that takes a team to four Final Fours without winning a championship.

This can't be serious. I guess you would have fired K in 1990 after he went to 4 FF in 5 years and didn't win the NC:(. You should read some of his quotes about how frustrated he was then and how really, really difficult he thought/thinks it is to win the NC. She is one of the biggest supporters of the LAX program(S) at Duke. Look back at some the comments she made about the men in the spring of 2006. Sure it is dissappointing and frustrating, but it sounds like this team really jelled at the right time, upsetting 2 excellent teams on the way to the FF this year.

Duke lost a key offensive player, one who set screens on the interior very effectively, and is quite tall and an excellent interium target in the interior to occupy the ball close to the net, very early in the game.

Someone who does a lot of the little things that really makes an offense sing.

She turned her ankle badly and was gone for the game. I hope it is not too bad, and that she gets the appropriate training once the ankle heals sufficiently and can use that foot close to what was normal.

Her loss could have been a difference maker.

Astute observation Greybeard. Super-freshman Emma Hamm went out early in the contest. She led Duke in ground balls and draw controls. Her loss certainly may have made a difference.

to a tough year. Losing Cryer at the beginning of the year made for a struggle against most of the top teams. Making the Final Four without the preseason national player of the year in your lineup is more than commendable. Next year...
