That's a classic! It should be added to the Hall of Fame Concourse.

I grew up in NC public schools in the 60s. I learned early the sound of one voice cheering!

I think I have a similar picture from Parkwood Elementary circa 1975(southern Durham county). Thank heavens for Drew Harris, the only other Duke fan in my grade. Love Ya Drew.

Thats hilarious and its how I feel at work, being the lone Duke fan among a bunch of UNC sheep. Actually that my extended family as well with exception of my father, he pulls for the Crimson Tide which is a-ok with me

I like my friend's interpretation better:

"Or maybe it's supposed to show that out of a typical elementary school class, only one student will be smart enough to go to Duke!";)

I too love that picture. Even at the Medical Center, where I work, there are a whole lot of Carolina fans.

That is a great pic. And it shows that Wal-Mart is still in very good hands in the Greater Chapel Hill area.

I would guess that it is photoshopped or something but the reflections on the floor make it look real.

Very clever-- props to the teachers or whoever staged it. Quite amusing.

Wait, it just says elementary-- that could go thru at least 4th or 5th grade. Those kids look like 3rd graders to me.

I'm pretty sure it's photoshopped. It's hard to say definetively on a low res image, but I think there are some indications that a few kids were erased. The reflections in the floor where the gap is look like a smudge tool dragged across, and the curtain has a pretty big artifact halfway between the kids, probably from trying to blend in a cloned piece of curtain. In the vertical boards between the kids, there are a few peculiar ones: several lack the shadow from the lip of the stage.

I wonder if this is a combination of two pictures?

Lived here for nigh onto forty years. There is NO SUCH SCHOOL in Chapel Hill with that name.
Love, Ima :p
